My specific campus is Richland. It’s a very neat and nice campus and diverse community. There’s several activities happening at the campus or virtually for students to attend which makes it more enjoyable. One thing that should be considered is if a student is In line and there’s no one else waiting to take the student instead of having them sign in when no one else is around
I attended due to how cheap a semester would cost me compared to a university, however, I wished I had received guidance and clarification when I was applying for my major. I was trying to do the smart thing and attend college, complete my basic courses and transfer to a university to save myself two years of debt. However, it was never mentioned to me that the specific classes taking for interior design do not transfer to other universities. I think that if someone is applying, they should be asked if they are planning on transferring to a university after so that they can make smarter decisions before spending 2 years there and taking classes that don't transfer. It's a great school with amazing professors, but I would recommend just taking the basic core classes and not attempt to start your major there.
I was a former student, It was great for a community college. There are many opportunities you can try but that was limited for my case since I was an Early College Student, still I had a blast attending class. I'm thankful of the time I spent there, I love El Centro, now called Dallas College.
I was interested in attending El Centro College because I knew it would help me figure out what I wanted to study. I entered college without declaring a major, and through the faculty as well as peers, I have finally come to figure out what I want to study. The environment is always approachable, although one may not know everybody around, new friends are always being made. Aside from the environment outside of the classroom, the environment inside classrooms is one where people are able to state their opinions and not have to worry about being attacked because of it. Furthermore, the location is convenient due to it being in Downtown Dallas. It is across the street from a food court and has a train station next to it that makes transportation easier.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for El Centro College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
If I could go back in time I would start the process of looking for college sooner and later. I would prep myself for the 9th grade. I would have asked my mother did we have to move. Because moving your senior year would not be the best thing to do. I would go and visit the college. Take my SAT or ACT as much as possible. Try very hard to keep your GPA up. You need to apply for scholarship, grants and of course FAFSA well before your senior year. Find out if you are the first generation to go to college. You need to make the decision whether to stay home or should you go life on campus. Make sure that you keep in contact with the admission office. Remember to keep your high school counselor updated with your decisions of college. If you have a Facebook or MySpace please keep them private and positive. Don't allow situation to stop you from being your best and greatest. Don't forget to answer will essay questions because they are extremely important in decision making. The last thing Do not slack on your senior responsible. Keep your head up!
El Centro College molds the best from a diverse group into a brighter future of leaders.
I can't say, Im about to start my first day of college this Monday.
To be honest, El Centro has a great staff. They are always right there to help you with any questions that you have and they are extremely polite. I attend two other community colleges and even though this one is in Downton Dallas, you would not believe how genuine the faculty and students are.
Tuition is great the college does not make it impossible to go to school. The staff at El Centro is helpful and on top of everything for the students.
The best thing about my school is, how all the teachers won't all the students to succeed. The reason I said the teachers won't us to succeed is because, the teachers continue going over things step by step until I understand the lesson. The teachers even gives homework and bellringers so when the test rolls around I will know the correct answers. Even when that doesn't help me,I can get one of my peers to tutor me in between classes and after school. That is why I am so glad I chosed this school to attend.
Exactly where the classes are located and that there is going to be a long wait to register for class.
I would say that the worst thing about my school is that I have to pay for parking everyday I go to class. It is also difficult to find a good parking spot. Not to mention, the elevators take forever, and when you are going up 8 or 9 floors the stairs aren't the fastest choice.
student who have it in thei mind that they may quit before they even get started.
Since El Centro is a community college it is not known for such things as a University would be. It is the only community college in the downtown Dallas metroplex and is also the newest one out of its district counterparts.
Someone who wants to get a quality education at a price that isn't too rough on your wallet.
