Florida Gateway College is a phenomenal option for students who are planning to transfer into a university, cannot afford to enroll at a university, or wish to stay local while pursuing a higher education. Florida Gateway College offers a dual enrollment program that is accessible to several surrounding counties; making it easier for students to experience and continue their educations after high school graduation. Without this dual enrollment program, many students may find the transition to college to be too much, and struggle to adapt; or some may decide not to attend college at all. In sum, Florida Gateway College has an abundance of opportunity for everyone at an affordable rate and makes active efforts to better the community by educating those who inhabit it. Its rural location offers a safe and quiet atmosphere for students to thrive under.
FGC is a beautiful campus. The library is AMAZING. Shelves are fully stocked, and there are quiet study rooms that are available to study groups. They just re-did the Cafe and the food is actually great for a college campus. FGC offers many programs. Of course, every college has it's downfall. Recently we received a new college president, and he is making several changes that are great for the college. All in all, it's a 4 out of 5.
I think that Florida Gateway College is a great school. It has a very great atmosphere. It is very laid back and very simple. It doesn't have a lot going on like other schools and universities, but if you want to get your degree at a small college campus with very little hassle, I recommend Florida Gateway.
My overall opinion was thta thye have an administration that really cares about students and their education. When i walked in the class it was a science class and the professor said their are around 20 student in each class so the indivisiual student can get the much needed help and attention as possible. I am extremely proud of this school and i am excited to be apart of the wolvepack in the fall. #gotimberwolves
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Florida Gateway College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, there would be plenty for me to say. I would tell myself to get off my butt and put some scholarships in. My parents and I do not make much money, so that would help. I would tell myself to get a waiver from the school and pay the application fee. FSU? UF? UNF? UWF? Stetson? Flager? Go somewhere! Please try! You know you want to be in marching band in college, so what are you doing? You want the college experience? Then apply! I would also tell myself to try to learn how to cook and do laundry because if I do get accepted, I would have to learn. I would have to learn to go out of my comfort zone. The last thing I would tell myself would be to CHECK MY EMAILS. ALL OF THEM. I recently checked them and found out two universities wanted me and I could not go. My life would be very different if I could go back. I am happy where I am at though, just wish I could do more.
The school's only downfall in my mind is that it has a bookstore that is just not up to par. The bookstore is very small, and if you do not arrive the day books are available, you typically have to wait for more books to be ordered.

My college is a very diverse college that offers many programs and clubs.
EVERYBODY IS VERY FRIENDLY AND NOBODY SNOBS YOU, THERE IS ALWAYS A FRIENDLY SMILE TO HELP YOU WHEN YOU NEED IT, ALL FACULTY IS VERY APPROACHABLE AND EVEN COLLEGE EMPLOYEES ARE ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP WHEN THEY CAN.
I love that there are small class sizes and a large opportunity for online classes.
NOTHING REALLY, WHEN YOUR IN COLLEGE AT 45 YEARS OLD YOU KIND OF JUST HAVE THE MIND SET TO JUST DO IT NO MATTER WHAT.
I think the main kinda of people that should attend Lake City Community College are the people who want to major in nursing, welding, or get an EMT. That's a very popular major at Lake City Community College and it would not be hard to find people to study with and share the same classes or text books together.
You should not attend this school if you want the actual college experience. You should not attend this school if you do not like being bored. You should not attend this school if you do not like seeing people you know from high school.
My school has upgraded from a 2 year commmunity college to a 4 year state university and serves 7 surrounding counties. This is a very rural but solid community of people that want the best for themselves and their children. Even though these are not easy times for the education system , this part of Florida (North Central) is willing to invest and look forward to a prosperous and green energy future so that our way of life will continue in the sunshine.
