Morningside is a great school with many activities, events, sports, clubs, and organizations for students to be a part of. Being a smaller school, there is plenty of opportunity to get to know other students and professors which has been great in helping me through college. There are many different classes offered and the advisors at Morningside are willing to help you find the classes that will help you on your academic journey and encourage the exploration into classes outside of your field of study.
I love it here! Morningside has helped me find a family away from home, while also pursuing the career and major that I have wanted to for years! Honestly, the professors are accessible whenever you need, and the classes are challenging, too. I can't wait to continue my education here.
Choosing to go to Morningside College was one of the best decisions I have made. Not only do the teachers make you feel welcomed. But the faculty as a whole are very inviting. When you are passing by fellow students make a point to stop and say hello or at least smile while you pass by. I was very uneasy about coming back to school. But choosing Morningside was one of the best decisions I have made in a long time!!!
It is a great school and they offer outstanding financial support. They have scholarships for everything from academics to whatever activity you are interested in like sports (basketball, football, soccer, etc.) to band, choir, theater, and e-sports.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Morningside College is 56%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
If I could go back and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would tell myself not to have taken so many easy classes. I'd say to myself to keep challenging yourself as much as possible and pay attention to everything your teachers are putting in front of you, becuase that's what the professors in college are going to do. I'd also tell myself not to worry so much about the small things because once you're out of that small town everything just seems to dissappear and only the things that really matter will follow you into college.
The worst thing about my school is the lack of parking.
It is really known for its football program and acedemically it is known for its nursing program.
The best thing about my school is the size of it because the classes are the perfect size for a good learning environment. So you are not just another kid in the class the professor actually knows you by name.
A campus dedicated to encouraging engaged citizenship and awareness of community issues.
My Classmates are intelligent and never afrain to say what is on their mind. The class and the professor creates a comfortable learning environment where every point of view is respected. Classmates support and challenge eachother all in order to do better.
It's a small school, so some of the professors do actually care about how you are doing. It is more of a school to go to if you plan on being a student-athlete in college.
I felt well informed before making my final descision to come to Morningside - I don't think there is anything I wish I had known because I was not surprised by anything.
Someone who wants massive classes where they can disappear into the crowd, or those who aren't wanting to be engaged in an academic comunity.
When bragging about Morningside I mention the class sizes, around 30 people, and how beautiful the campus is. The faculity is great and there is never a dull moment on campus.
The person that should attend Morningside needs to be a hard worker, and hands on type of learner, also someone that is prepared for tough classes, and be expected a lot out of.
The cold climate while walking to classes.
These stereotypes, for the most part, are accurate. The majority of the school population are white, and a large percentage of the students are also involved in athletics. But you don't have to be an athlete, there are a lot of other clubs and activities to get involved with such as theater, choir, student government, the television network and the campus radio station. There are a good chunk on students that are not from the Midwest, and a lot of kids come from all different kinds of backgrounds.
The academic life is good at Morningside. The largest class I have ever been in was 30 people, but most classes are around 20 people. The professors are very accessible and actually know you. It's very easy to get extra help on schoolwork and to feel like the professors care about how you do in their course.
Because Morningside has a lot of athletes, athletic events are very popular. Especially our football and basketball events. Some of the largest organizations are the student government and MAC. MAC is the counsel that bring all sorts of events and programs to Morningside like comedians, bands, and comics. The social life is pretty lively here, for the most part I would say a great majority of the students at Morningside like to party. But the minority of students that don't are not outcasted in any way, its just more common to meet a student that loves to get drunk on a Saturday night than it is to meet a student who likes to read on a Saturday night.
Some stereotypes about Morningside students are that they are all Midwestern, White, Uppermiddle class Athletes.
I think that the best thing about Morningside is the atmosphere. By that I mean that everybody, the faculty, staff and students, are all genuinely nice. It makes it easy to like it here because the kindness is very genuine. One thing I would change about Morningside is that I would love to have more students from a wider range of hometowns. The school is currently trying to get more kids from farther away and I would love to see a wide range of students
