I attended online courses at Northwest University. These courses were fine, but did not seem to provide college-level academics, and did not require college-level work. Though I cannot speak for all classes, my handful seemed slightly sub-par. Faculty was wonderful and easy to reach over phone and email. Doctrine was moderately solid as well.
It is a very fun University to attend. There are always activities to take part in. The professors are very relatable and easy to access. The profs are also almost always willing to help. The students are very kind and the atmosphere on campus is very positive and lively. Good Christian university
When I visited the campus I gradually fell in love with the Northwest experience! The professors are very present and available, you are not just a number. The students are intelligent, welcoming, overall of high quality. The location is beautiful, and academics are taken very seriously! I would like nothing more than to be a part of this university.
Nothing can compare to the unity that NU creates. There are people here who you may not know, and they may not know you but they genuinely care about you. Even during your hardship, people here at NU will gladly walk with you through the fire, holding your hand through every step and reminding you that "You got this! Everything's going to be alright." I believe NU is blessed God is the foundation of this University. People here at NU acknowledge God for not what He does, but for who He is.

Dear Self, Don't worry - college is so much better than high school. You can forget about the drama, cliques, and chaos (for the most part, at least!). But college won't be easy. You'll have to work hard, read a lot, and use your brain in new ways. Studying isn't all you'll be doing, though. You'll make new friends and have a lot of fun. You'll be busy, but don't get too caught up in the daily grind to miss out on the little things that make college life worth remembering--the dorm floor parties, the late-night board games, the inside jokes, the movie nights. Four years in college might sound like a lifetime now, but you'll be surprised how fast it flies by. Enjoy it while you can, before you have to enter the mysterious corporate jungles of the "real world"!
The students are a loving group of people from all over the area and the world.
Northwest University is a Christian college, dedicated to higher education, service to God the Father, and service to the community and the world.
The community. The size of the school is smaller so there is a better chance for you to get to know people. I walk around and can easily say hello to everyone I walk past and they actually know who I am. Community is key here at Northwest and people are not afraid to show that they care about you and take an actual interest in your life.
The cost. I believe that I am getting a good education and will place high in my field because of what I am learning now, but I will be in debt for a while. School loans are sometimes the only way to finish a degree, but it is the negative aspect of this type of education.
A person considering this school should have an incredible want to learn and be amongst others with amazing Christian values! This school stands proudly on his Christian ethics but delivers a top notch education for many different degrees! Northwest University is a home away from home where you can meet people from all over in a warm and comforting community!
This is a Christian university, so if you aren't a Christian, most likely you will not be allowed to go here. You may be able to live a Christian lifestyle I suppose and not be a Christian, but here, God and His direction in our lives is important. We have chapel every Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, and all the professors give tools on how to use their knowledge for God's glory as well as for our careers. If you are a wild partier, like drinking and such, you wouldn't like our school, because that is not allowed.
Northwest University is a well established Christian College that is relatively mainstream. It has a well structured secondary education program from a Christian perspective which I feel is important for my biology major. The location was also important to us. It puts us far enough but not too far from our families in an area with which we are familiar. I also have a couple family members who have attended and have given favorable reviews.
What my school is best known for to me. The ability to teach us a good christain foundation that will help us in any line of work that we choose or feel lead to be apart of.
I wish I knew more about the scholarships and deadlines for the school. I didn't know anything about the music scholarship so I missed the deadline. I also wish I knew a little more about their music program because they have a much bigger program than I thought, so I didn't get involved.
With over 40,000 students and only about 10,000 spaces allotted for student use, the most frustrating thing is definitely parking. Students with afternoon classes leave two hours before their class even starts to find a coveted spot. If you are in a parking garage and seemingly walking to a car, do not be suprised if you are either a) stalked by at least two cars the entire way there with horns blayzing as you pull our or b) asked if you want a ride to your car so that lucy driver can take your spot of ground.
The sense of community, which, at its essence, is a tribute to the people. From the administration, to professors, to the students, everyone's friendliness and caring create a real feeling of belonging.
Northwest University is in Kirkland, Washington so you can assume that it is a rich area... you're right! It's very expansive over in this area. Another thing I'm not too fond of is that people are very sheltered over here. I came from a super diverse high school, an area where hearing police cars chasing someone on the streets became second nature to us. Kirkland is the exact opposite. BUT!! It is such a Godly filled school. My faith has grown here so much since my first day. It's definitely a place to stay on track and deepen your walk with God.
The professors are really enthusiastic about what they teach. They care about you and your education, and want you to succeed. The school offers a large variety of majors and minors. Great learning environment, and a great place to grow your faith.
The sports events are very popular, and the intramural activities get everyone involved. They also have plenty of off campus activities that are very popular.
Since this is a christian school all students are most likely christian. Faith is integrated in all that you do in the school. This causes many people to be very hesitant when looking into this school. Be rest assured that the people you meet will be the nicest people you will ever meet.
