I felt the same way going into college. I felt like I would want to call home all the time because I would miss my family so much. I did miss my family, a lot. But after getting into my routine and into my classes and made new friends, I didn't feel that way anymore. I feel like everyone is different, but I feel like once you get into college, it becomes your home. Calling home once a day might be necessary at first as you are getting used to college. That is perfectly okay. But I think as time goes on, you will find yourself not calling quite as much :)
