Many people have an image of Brandeis as a bunch of nerds who are ugly and can't talk to the opposite sex. While it is true that guys looking for hot blonde after hot blonde will be out of luck, Brandeis does not lack for girls who are smart, interesting, and attractive. It is harder for me to speak on this as a guy, but I'd say Brandeis guys tend to be nerdier than the average, but also nicer. However, if your only interested in guys that are 6'2 or taller with huge muscles, you will probably need to leave campus to find dating prospects. People often complain that there isn't anyone datable at Brandeis, but that hasn't stopped most people from dating someone. A lot of my friends are in serious relationships, and I know several people who have ended up marrying people they met at Brandeis—but don't worry, people date casually too! There aren't that many good date options in Waltham other than restaurants, but it's easy to get into Cambridge or Boston for the night, and in a city like Boston it's easy to meet students at other colleges, especially if you have high school friends who go to area schools and have cute friends. Relationships tend to be either casual or serious, and there isn't much middle ground, but it's certainly not impossible or unheard of.
