College of the Ozarks Top Questions

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating thing about my college is the extreme conservative views. The college is very worried about image and what people think of them instead of their students. There are very ridiculous rule put into play such as clothing styles, curfews and lifestyles. It is very much like a highschool in the way that the students are treated.

The most frustrating thing about College of the Ozarks is the emphasis on looks. The administration does everything possible to make sure everything on campus looks presentable to the many donors that are frequently touring campus. However, the school could take part of the effort put into looks and put that into character building. Many times students feel that as long as they look good on the outside, it does not matter what is on the inside. A lot is said about character building, but in my experiences the heavy emphasis on outer looks does more to hurt character.

The most frustrating thing about College of the Ozarks is that balancing school-work and your on-campus job can consume most of your time at this college. This can lead to less time allowed for you to go home and less time allowed for you to interact with other schoolmates or to just socialize with friends.

I don't like the fact that most music classes are only 1 credit hour and you have to take a minimum of 15. It makes being a music major very stressful and hard. I had to take 10 classes just to meet the minimum. It is especially frustrating because you end up putting more time and effort into those 1 credit hour classes. I think they should be worth at least 2 credits.
