GW was my first choice and I've loved every experience I've had. I couldn't imagine my life any other way after what I've done. My friends from high school can't believe how busy I keep myself with how involved I am, and this is how GW is different than other schools: opportunities.

Thomas

The best thing about GW is DC, but DC also acts as a crutch. The great things about life at GW are DC-related. The Administration pushes students off campus so that they won't have the liability if anything goes wrong. I wish partying on campus was much easier and accepted. I wish we had more of a real campus, and I wish there was more school spirit. We need a new basketball stadium desperately. We need more open green spaces. Most importantly, we need cheaper education. Right now- I don't think the price tag is worth it.

I am a part of Kappa Kappa Gamma, a soroity on campus. We continually deal with issues from the Greek community because everyone loves to hate on us. Its boarderline ridiculous when we get cheated out of winning events because people dont like us that much. Its not even that people dont like us individually, its that people dont liek the fact that we are so great and we dont have to try to do so.

Rich kids from the northeast. Guido guys and Jappy girls, basically everyone wants to look like a B-list celebrity; like they have money, but they're too cool to have to deal with crazy hordes of fans, so they don't have to "act" friendly if they don't want to. Once you get into a conversation with them though, they're gonna tell you about who they are, what they've done, and what their father does, so that they feel important. On the flip side, there are the kids that try too hard to be different, wearing the funky clothes that come right out of Urban Outfitters so they're still just like everyone else. Not that its all about clothes, but those are the kids that come to GW. Because its a school where sports suck, people coalese on politics and political issues (i.e.: Darfur or Bush's alleged "war crimes") There are no real jocks and some people wish for a "real college" (read: big state school) experience. As far as the school is concerned, either people hate it or love it. More people hate it, but I think they're just too lazy to transfer and they're not paying for it, so whatever. I think that the school really only listens to parents for that reason, because most students couldn't pay for school on their own, so really parents are the people that the administrators listen to. If you need to change your housing assignment, or get a financial packet re reviewed, you're out of luck if you're on your own; but if you have a parent call, the administration will bend over backwards to accommodate their wishes.

Dale

This school is for people who think they're smart, rather than being smart.

Carl

We need more American diversity meaning southerners, mid-westerners, and of course interior westerners. We have to many people from the northeast and california.

Zach

I've heard alot of people say that after graduation they'd like to go to a state school for either law or grad studies for a "real college experience".

Alexis

-embarassing moments are always interesting. I have seen so many walks of shame (and have taken a few of htem myself) that it is really very amusing living in thurston. you never thought you could be so open sexually with the many roommates in the room because you have no other choice.

One of the hidden treasures of GW for freshmen is the Mount Vernon Campus. Its a smaller campus about a ten minute bus ride away from the main Foggy Bottom campus and its beauitful. Whereas the main campus is urban, Mt Vernon has a nice quad and all the sports fields. The campus is much more laid back and relaxed. Since its a smaller campus, you get to know a lot of people pretty well. The Vern is especially good for people who don't drink, because there seem to be more students on the Vern who don't. A lot of people think the Vern is antisocial or boring, but thats not the case at all. People have a lot of fun there too, its just more laid back in general. Also, Thurston is the big freshmen party dorm. It houses over 1200 students and it can be pretty crazy. If you want a party, Thurston is the place to be. If you don't want a party every night, its somewhere to visit, not to live.

Ali

I adore GW. Never been happier in my life. You have to be the right person to go here though. Independent and out-going.

Rachel

I love GW! There is something for everyone.

Brett

all and all i wish i went to another school. but i love what i've done at gw. i think i've done the best anyone could when put into a college like gw. i've really met so many great people (even if some are terrible) and i've enjoyed almost all of my classes.

Katy

Everything at the school is extremely expensive: from the food, housing, and services. Although the school gives out many scholarships, many students who apply early decision pay full tuition and, in my opinion, are not getting their money's worth.
