What do students complain about most?

Leah

A lot of students tend to complain about the snobbery at GW and the amount of readings assigned in classes. I mean hey this is college. You're not going to get along with everyone you meet or enjoy everything you have to read. Honestly, as a Freshman, I never really had the problem of dealing with too many snobby people. I mean if one happened to be bugging me, I was blessed with the amazing capability to turn my back and walk the other way. In college, since there are so many people roaming around everywhere, chances are you won't ever bump into Mr.Iown7yachtsand12mansions ever again. As for readings, if you want college to be a walk in the park, GW is not the school for you. This is very prestigious school who expects students to put time and effort into their studies. Trust me, seeing those 5 A's flash across your screen could possibly be the best feeling in the world.

Students complain the most about the food here - it is extremely expensive and there is no variety at all. The university does not give you nearly enough Dining Dollars for a semester and J street pretty much sucks. Students would prefer to be on swipes and have a buffet-style dining option. People also complain about how bureaucratic GW is, it can be hard to get into classes and your professors won't notice you unless you make the effort. Classes can be up to 200 people. The counseling center here is also under-staffed and needs a lot of work done on it.
