What do students complain about most?

Daniel

The great thing is that everyone complains about the cold. Whoever doesn't is kind of weird. It is more of a community thing sometimes than anything. And when you go back home, no matter where you live, you just scoff at everyone who says it cold because you know what cold really is!

I feel as though students complain most about the dining hall food and weather. Apart from the fact that Northwestern University dining halls are nationally recognized for their ability to cater to vegans and vegetarians, their food overall is mediocre at best. Stir fry and the grill station seem to always pull out edible food but everything else is very lacking. I find myself stuffing my stomach with french fries and other unhealthy foods because, quite frankly, everything else doesn't taste all that much. But that isn't to say that there is not a single person who is a fan. There ARE meals that I love and I am still alive, appetite quenched. Weather is a whole different issue. For those coming from generally warm parts of the U.S., the fall/winter seasons can very much be a shock for you. Being from California, I had no idea what to expect and only purchased a couple sweaters/jackets and was victim to one of the biggest snow storms of Chicago history. So to remedy this "complaint," bring some extra clothes, layer and drink warm/hot fluids!
