Someone who is not prepared to spend 100% of their time in studio. Someone who thinks they might want to study something other than art.
RISD is very accepting of many different types of people. In my opinion, the type of person that shouldn't attend RISD is someone who has a poor work ethic, lacks creativy and resourcefulness, or someone who is expecting a traditional college experience.
People that should not attend this school will posses little to none of the following characteristics listed below: creative open minded understanding adaptable self motivated determined independent enthusiastic strong willed studious attentive prioritized oraganized eager to take in everything compassionate Individuals that do not have all or most of these characteristic will find the school challenging. RISD is an outgoing campus that creates networks through the estabished artisitic community. It is an unique school, from its academic calendar to the excessive workload. The pressure is overbearing and can break many that are not ready to take on the task.
someone rigid and boring. open minded people do the best here. also people who are highy talented. if your talent is simply average, you won't be able to keep up.
A conservative, preppy, unmotivated, uncreative, close minded person that likes to tan... A LOT. There wont be enough time to tan and pass all your classes.
A frat guy.
Because this school focuses on art, any person who isn't serious about this shouldn't attend this school. Also, people shouldn't attend this school if they aren't willing to work very hard, because RISD's studio classes are often very long, and most students here get a lot of homework (which is mostly made up of various projects rather than reading or studying).
