Southern Methodist University Top Questions

I found out I was a Dedman College Scholar. This is a $40,000 scholarship and a community. I was also impressed with the Honors Program.

I knew that the resources here were truly off-the-charts. For the size of the university, the opportunities you are presented here are seemingly endless. I personally recognized and wanted the respect associated with the Meadows School of the Arts, and realized that it would give me great positioning to have a successful career in music. Along with that, the scholarships offered are typically very good (when you chase after them!), and help offset a cost that seems very intimidating on paper for many.

When i visited, it just felt right. The kids felt like me, and that's a feeling that I didn't really get when I visited other schools. The deciding factor, however, was when I saw that the dining hall had a station for gluten free food, and some other colleges had told me that since I was gluten free, I would have to eat in my room.

I chose SMU because I knew I wanted to stay in the Dallas area, and i felt like this was the best choice compared to University of Texas at Dallas. SMU has many connections with companies in Dallas and other large cities that help make sure you get a job by the time you graduate. I also loved the campus and all the people that go there. It feels like my second home!! I would definitely recommend SMU!!
