The College of Saint Rose Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

Bria

College sort of drops you off on your head and makes you find your way on your own. I wish someone had told me how to better plan my schedule for the rest of the year that would keep me on track. I wish I knew more about the Clubs and interest groups on campus so that could find peers interested in the same things i was earlier. I wish i Was told about the counseling center so that i would know where to go when everything was beginning to feel like a little too much.

Samantha

Having to leave to go home for breaks.

Joshua

Nothing, it is truley an amazing atmosphere conducize to learning and socializing.

Mark

The only difficulty I had was trying to find parking and getting to know my way around campus as I will be commuting to school each day.

Nicole

The worst thing about the College of Saint Rose is the fact that everyone goes home on the weekend. So the weekends are dead, which makes it so there is no sense of community here.

Peggy

The worst thing about my school is the parking situation. It is very difficult to find parking on the streeet or even in the parking lot. I am a commuter student traveling about thirty minutes to arrive to school. It is quite frustrating to have to leave forty five minutes early to find a parking spot.

Teresa

The location. The surrounding neighborhood can be dangerous., and students need to be very careful. It seems that the bad part of town is creeping closer and closer to campus and almost engulfing it. Also, off-campus housing is expensive, but campus housing is limited and the required meal plan is not only unhealthy and overpriced, it's the reason I won't move back on campus.

Ravin

The cost of the school because it is so expensive it is hard for some students to stay and finish out their degrees.

Jessica

My school, like every college I applied to, is incredibly expensive. There are hidden fees everywhere. For instance, my current meal plan includes a fee for broken plates. Apparently, the College of Saint Rose expects its students to break eight plates each semester. Who knew? Not me. Also, there is alimit to how many prints each student is awarded per semester. We pay a monumental technology fee and we are limited to 150 prints per semester. So yes, the cost of school is the worst part of college life.

Juliet

The worst thing about The College of Saint Rose is the price. It is a lot of money and with the falling economy it is getting harder to afford, but it will be worth it in the end to have a higher level of education with a lot of hands on learning experiences.

Heather

I'm not sure if this is just all schools, but despite it's size, Saint Rose can be very beaurocratic at times. Also, transferred credits or credits that *shoudl* have been transferred are a hassle to resolve. The form is easy enough and the people are friendly, but you just have to fight over every single credit in question. Also, for billing itself as "affordable" prices seem exxagerated. The meal plans seem pricey which causes many to move off-campus and health services isn't any better (or less frustrating) than a typical doctor's visit.: you wait.

Kathleen

I think that it is too clicky with friend groups. It is a small school and I think that once people make friends as a freshman they keep them and keep everyone else out.

Jose

The food gets boring after a while.

Jennifer

I would change the speed at which things get done. A common sentence is, "we are paying this much...for this?" When you think of the amount of money entering the schools accounts its only natural to think the school owes us now, which they do. When a student wants things done they expect it to be done and its easy to forget the process of things and the hierarchy of the school. With that said, I would change the speed at which maintinence issues get solved, the scheduling of shuttle busses, and the amount of aid provided.
