I enjoy going here. I am currently a dual enrolled student at Trevecca and this is my second semester here. Everyone is nice and friendly and there are so many activities constantly happening. The security and cafeteria workers are so understanding and kind and they are always nice to me. Overall, I like Trevecca.

In my opinion I love being at a Christian school it is a safe place where I can learn some real world life skills in a Biblical community where you learn about your faith but also your educational life. I do believe getting the tools at a safe place will help a student thrive in their education.

To Be Rather Than To Seem! That is Trevecca Nazarene University's motto. Attending this university I learned, experienced and still appreciating the overall message of Trevecca. If you are not Nazarene your first thought of Trevecca is "Man these people are weird." That was my first though, as a sixteen year old Methodist/Catholic entering this school. The school has strict rules of no drinking, dancing, and a dress code. However, if you can overlook those three negatives this school has so much to offer. Trevecca is very strong academically. The professors not only give students knowledge on their particular subjects, but gives the tools on how to apply this knowledge. Additionally, many professors will even go as far to help students use knowledge gained for missionary work. Trevecca is a school built on service. There are many opportunities that students can engage in the community and it is advertised just as much as our sports culture. For a small college, Trevecca has spread its roots within the local community and internationally. If your a future college student or parent this school is perfect if Christianity/good citizenship is a huge priority. Even four years after college, Trevecca's message is still ingrained in my consciousness. As a future educator it was my first choice as an MAT program. Currently, it is just as a remembered, but the classes are more difficult. Even in the Master's program there is a message of service to your students even when we can't proclaim Christ as much as we want. Overall, To Be Rather Than To Seem is the perfect way to describe Good Ol' TNU.

Trevecca is a very great Christian school with loving staff and students. Great dorms for single students but nothing for married students so I am ending my studies there after my two years associates degree and will probably continue online. Other than that trevecca has been great for me and my soon to be wife!

If I were to Describe my College experience so far while attending Trevecca in one word it would be: Strength. Not physically, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually. While here I have found the strength to break out of my comfot zone, and take a stand for things I believe in. Things I wouldn't have even thought about standing for without Trevecca. I know, with my education here, I will have the strength to pursue future careers, and the strength to make something of myself. It is a small christian school so the campus enviornment is all together friendly and close to each other. It is not an uncomfortable envirnment in any means. I have heard from friends from different colleges saying that their professors are hard to get a hold of out of class which is not at all true at Trevecca. I have also heard that there are different groups around campus that they do not socialize with. At Trevecca there are different groups that are more familar to you, however, it is not a common practice to only stay within your group.

  16. What is your overall opinion of this school?

The best thing about Trevecca is the atmosphere and the social life. The perfect amount of students, not too big and not too small, makes it feel like a giant family. We have multiple on campus events and parties each week; trips, educational forums, service projects in nashville, concerts, etc. Music City helps us get great concerts each year. As far as classes go, each class averages about 20 people so you really get the help from teachers that you need. Beautiful campus 2 minutes away from downtown Nashville. There is a lot of involvement with the city; for example some Trevecca students have been protesting with the occupy wall street members outside our capital. I have so many memories here including sledding down the huge hill at mt olivet cemetary, the giant slip n slide we have on the hill behind the girls dorms, and all the fun times playing intramural sports with my friends.

  19. What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

So often Trevecca students get stereotyped as "home-schooled conservative Christians". People hear about "all the rules you have to follow" and they turn up their nose to it. These are not true. The atmosphere is really free, and the students really know how to have fun. Yes, Trevecca is a Christian school but you are not required to be a Christian to go here. We have a mixed racial population, as well as different types of people - jock, trendy kid, nerd, average, etc. All of my friends who went to a big public school tell me all the time they are jealous of the things we do and the people who go here.
