How signing up for classes work, and how to get involved immediately with all the different opportunities availible.

How much fun i was going to have, but how much work and reading it was.

I feel like I already knew most of what I would be facing, but I never imagined how the outcomes far undermined my expectations.

I feel that all the information I needed about UCLA was available, I just did not take the initiative and do enought research about the different extracurricular activities and opportunities offered. There is a such a wide variety of activites, interests, and classes that it can be overwhelming and I did not take the time to fully explore them all before I started college.

I wish I had known more about the resources available to me as a theater student. I dont get the exposure to the industry as much as I had anticipated or as many opportunities to be in productions on campus.

That its very expensive to live in LA. Other than that, everything is great and nothing out of the ordinary.

People are not as friendly as the Midwest and generally socialize only with their own racial groups.

I wish I had known the background nad specifications of some specific departments at UCLA that have captured my belated interest both academically and career-wise. They are Film, International Development Studies, World Arts and Cultures, Ethnomusicology, and Geography. While few high-schoolers think of these departments when choosing and enterring universities, these departments at UCLA are some of the best in the world of their type, and it makes me wish I had committed to a few them early on in order to have further explored my future in these fields.

I wish I knew UCLA had so many hills and stairs, as it does become VERY annoying to walk 30 minutes every day, just to get to class.

Internships and work experience are necessary during college.

It would have helped me a lot if I had a clear career goal before I started attending this school. I know that a lot of students tend to switch back and forth between majors, and establishing a feasible goal before attending school would have allowed me to be more productive for my time.

As individual people, most students at this school are not good people.

I wish I had known that UCLA was SO much larger than my high school. I went from the top of my class to just one of many intelligent students.
