What are the academics like at your school?

some classes are huge with 500 people, but there are a lot of smaller classes offered. most of the general ed and lower division classes are going to be on the large side, but once you get the basic concepts, the upper divisin and major specific classes are smaller. my biggest class right now is 50 students. class participation is very common and a lot of conversations around campus are intellectual. it is easy to see professors outside of class. they all have office hours and are good about emails and making appointments to meet with students.

AMAZING. We have some great professors and classes.

Classes are large and intimidating. Most professors WANT to know their students names but there's simply too many of them. Going to office hours is a for sure way to get to know professors and most students are surprised by how welcoming and friendly professors are when they talk to them outside of lectures. In the sciences, A LOT of students are pre-med, making classes really competitive. My favorite classes have been my upper division lab classes by far - small classes, hands on experience and AMAZING professors.
