University of North Texas Top Questions

While I enjoy attending UNT immensly, it is a very liberal school. Teachers in the science departments especially are very liberal in their views of religion and creation.

I wish I had better time management skills. That is key when you are studying.

Before coming to the University of North Texas, I wish I would have known what teachers not to take. I'm terrible with all things science and I ended up taking one of the hardest teachers, an astrophysicist, in the field. I was miserable and I ended up having to self teach myself a lot of the material.

I wish I knew more about what this program expects out of its students.

When I first came to this school the people who were meant to show us around campus were a suspiciously nice. Once you get here the friendliness that you thought you were going to get disappears. Also I had an opportunity to go to a better, more expensive school on my high school GPA and would much rather have picked that school because of its reputation for a great business school and school spirit.

I would have like to known the entire transfer process. Instead of being passed off from person to person.

I wish I had known that most of my financial aid would come in the form of loans. However, a large portion of those loans are subsidized so it's not horrible.

I wish I would've known how difficult and competitive the Interior Design program is. I will keep moving forward to get into it. If I don't, I know there will be plenty of other things to choose from here, but I am looking for what I'm passionate about.

I wish I had been aware of all the expenses before I came to this school. I never thought it would be this hard to get all the money that is needed in order to cover up education, housing and a decent meal plan.

I wish I had known some of the students that attend the school before I came to this school. It is a big campus, and people are friendly and nice but it is a lot better when you can see a familar face around campus. It eases the transition.

How small it was, how easy it is to make friends, and where all the organizations were.

I wish that I had known how very liberal this school was. I'm a fairly conservative person by nature and coming to UNT was a bit of a shock. It was a big eye-opener - the first Halloween I was there I saw a man going to class in a pink tutu and white tights. People would never have done that back at home and that, more than anything, clued me in to how different UNT was going to be.

I wish I had known to join a sorority my freshman year to makes friends. I also wish I had known to live in a dorm by myself instead of having the school choose a roommate for me.

I wish that I had known just how much different college is from high school and just how amazing greek life can be. Most people imagine movies like Old School or Animal House when they think of greeks but at North Texas everyone is so nice and friendly that those movies do not even come close to what greek life can really be like. The friendships I have formed in my fraternity will last till the day I die.

Throughout high school, I was able to excell in my classes without any studying or reading the required material. Upon entering college and completeing my first year, I soon realized that studying is a crucial part of success in higher education. Before I came to this school, I wish I had known how to effectively study.
