Webster University Top Questions

Why did you decide to go to this school?

Marissa

I chose Webster because it had absolutely everything I was looking for in a college. First off, I wanted a smaller college with small, personal class sizes. I also was looking for a school near a large city (ex: Chicago, St. Louis, New York), but that was not right in the heart of a busy, scary city. Academically, Webster was a good fit for my major (photography) because they offered photography within the School of Communications, which is the focus that I would like to take. Also, I wanted the opportunity to study abroad in college, and Webster makes it very easy to study abroad and gives students so many opportunities. Finally, I loved the environment when I visited campus. I felt so welcomed and found myself wanting to be friends with everyone I met. The students seemed so genuine and fun. I am completely happy with my decision!

Webster offered me a fantastic scholarship and also offered all the different majors I wanted -- Photography, Communications, & German. They also have a fantastic study abroad system, which I took advantage of my junior year by spending 8 weeks in Leiden, the Netherlands.

I chose to come to Webster for soooo many reasons! First of all, Webster is only about thirty minutes from my house so I can always go home on the weekends. However, I still live on campus and recommend living on campus to get the full college experience! I also chose to come to Webster because I loved the area it was in! I came from a pretty small town with nothing to do..but I'm a city person! So I loved that this school is in a nice community but super close to the city so there is plenty to do! I only heard great things about the school because my cousin went to Webster. I also loved the sense of diversity, which I think is a big reason a lot choose to come here. You don't have to be a certain religion, race or sexual orientation to make friends here. Webster is a very accepting place.
