What role does technology play in the average student’s life?

A lot! From computers to I Phones, I Pads, texting, Facebook, or just sending em’s, etc., there’s no end to it, but unfortunately, our reliance on these “slaves of technology” has lessened our need to remember (there’s always Google), send hand written notes or cards for many occasions (texting), go outside & just hang out or put together a pickup ball game (there’s always some movie or program to watch on the computer), and the list goes on.

I grew up in the 50’s, and going to the park just for some fun was part of our lives. We didn’t need bicycle helmets, like motor cyclists in FL, and we just had good clean fun; my, how the world has changed, but not always for the better!
