I think the worst thing I have experienced are the classes only offered certain semesters, sometimes even certain years, however I'm sure that is all schools. The food plan was not the greatest, although they are working on changing that, so hopefully in the future it won't be a disappointment.

The worst thing about Boise state. The school places too much energy on sports then on academics.. I feel the sudents pay enough for school tuition and parking. When the university has home games as a student I need to have other alteratives to finding parking, Which enables the me to find close parking, this seems to be an on going problem for me. Its just sad that the Schools academics are less important.

The school has alot of programs to help, but not all of the programs are easily accessed or known to students. Plus the programs are not always known to faculty and staff. Each department works on it's own and does not work with other departments, when it could be beneficial for the student if all departments worked together.

How boring and inattentive the teachers/professors are. Lecture based without any class involvement...lame!

Some of the professors do not seem to care about their students.

I would have to say the worst thing is the instructors let athlets miss more class than they should be missing. The school is great and meets all my needs. Well except one. I am disabled with four chronic illnesses and there are some days that i struggle in class, not with getting my work done; but with particapating and I don't think I should be docted points on those rare occasions. Majority of the time I particapate with-out being called on. the school can't help me when it comes to chronic illnesses.

The worst part about Boise State is that some of the classes offered have a seat limit to them that is quit small. I think that BSU should have more classes available that have small limits to ensure that more students can take the classes they need. There are many classes available but there are some areas of education that should offer more classes and class times.

The worst thing about Boise State University is the size of the classes. It is too difficult to receive adaquate assistance from the professor when the class is too full of students.

This school does not foster the arts as much as its scientific and business counterparts. The art department is great, but students complain all the time about not being able to enroll in art classes, and art students are usually on campus taking needless classes until they can get a class needed for their major requirements. Recently there has been a strong drive to turn our campus into a "research institution" leaving our arts and humanities programs to be even more neglected.

The campus is very spread out and a lot of walking is required.

Finding afforadable ways to get to school, including parking, is somewhat difficult.

The worse thing about Boise State University is the parking system during football games. Our football team is very popular in the community and receives a great turn out, however it put a huge strain on the rest of the students all over campus. Many of the students living in the dorms have to relocate their cars on game day, or be fined. Many other parking lots around campus get completely filled and make parking difficult for other events featured on campus which are just as academically important as our football team.

The number of students at the school has grown faster than they can keep up with. But they are trying to fix it now.

There is not enough parking at all, it takes forever to find a spot even if you have a permit. The advisors that help incoming freshmen are not helpfull at all at the classes are over loaded and to much online stuff.

The availability of graduate programs. My husband would like to obtain his PhD and is going to have to attend a rival college.

Inability to get into key classes that you may need to reach a certain degree.

It's gowing through some growing pains and can seem a little crowded at times, but this is a somewhat minor complaint. It's only a serious problem during major events like sports etc.

Rising costs, difficulty getting into classes, and parking.

The football team/athletic department gets more recognition and money than anything else.

Space for parking. There is not enough parking for all the students. If you drive and want to park anwhere close, you have to buy a permit.

It is hard to find social orgainizations. Things like parking are extrememly expensive.

It's very focused around athletics, especially football.

It's racest. People here are not open-minded. It stems from and ignorance. Students parents and grandparents are racest.

There seems to be a conservative bias and an intolerance of those that are different.

The worst thing about my school is that it is in Idaho instead of Texas.

They're much too focused on their athletic programs, primarily the football team.

This school is obsessed with the athletic teams to the exclusion of students who are just keeping their noses to the grind stone and getting their education so they can get on with life. I find that a lot of classes are cancelled without prior notice, which I don't feel is right as I am here to get an education and if the professors are too busy to teach then we should get a break on the cost of our tuition.

some of the classes are too large and there is not enough student/teacher interaction in them.

The math department could keep getting better teachers to relate to kids and not just beat the same hammer on theorey and principle.

The worst thing about this school is I don't always feel like education is the main focus.

Dry Campus

That there is smoking on campus.

I think one of the worst things about my school is some of the teaching styles used by proffesors here. There are many different people in classrooms and everyone has different learning styles. Some teachers just stand up and lecture for class everyday. This is great for auditory learners, but for people like me, these classes can be extremely difficult. I think teachers should take into consideration the different learning styles of their students, and use visuals as well as lecture and maybe hands on activities to increase intrest in the classroom.

Not many options for housing and living conditions after the first 2 years as on campus housing is mostly new students.

The availibility of classes. It is hard to get into classes because some are only offered during certain semesters or even during certain years. It makes it hard to finish.

There are several professors that will flunk you from the class if you question their teaching/ideas or you call them on facts that they have wrong. The parking issue needs to be addressed...there is very little parking available inless you buy several permits in order to park in different lots.

The advisor help at this school isn't really that helpful. From personal experience, all the advice I was given was common sense. There is no checking up by your "advisor", so you really are on your own in this area.

I think that the worst thing about my school is that everything is centered around our football team--it's exciting and great, but at the same time there are many other sports and exciting parts about our school. I also wish that there was more of a focus on volunteering and being economically friendly. More focus on art and creative expression would be great too!

I think it is most colleges and universities, but my major complaint is the dumbing down of material. I understand a professor needs to make reasonable efforts to make the material understandable by all of the students in class. However, I find it annoying and disappointing when the entire class is slowed down because some students simply don't put forth the effort to succeed, so the professor spends extra time rexplaining things. Laziness should not be rewarded as this simply encourages it. Eucation is expensive, and if I'm paying to learn then I want to learn it all.

How expensive it is. Everything there costs money, even to take a class that is taught online costs more than taking just a normal class. Parking and books are ridiculous. And I HATE the way the math classes are. They are mostly taught online only, I do not understand why they would do that. Math is the type of subject that people need to be able to sit and ask questions about and see examples, something like English would be better for people to learn online, not math.

It's not necessarily a bad thing, but I don't much care for the architechture. It's kind of more that modern functionalist style which makes sense seeing as most of the school's growth was relatively recent.

Not having an advisor so that I know I am on the right path.
