When people ask if I enjoy the campus, I respond that it is a "commuter school" a lot of people commute to CSULB from Orange County and Los Angeles so it's a little bit of a different vibe. Almost similar to a larger community college campus.
I would talk to them about how easy it is to meet people who share similar interests as I did, in order to show them that in a school like Cal State Long Beach, loneliness is a choice. Trust me, I am a big gamer but also introverted, so I thought that it would be difficult to get along with people who are more outgoing and adventurous than I am. However, after one semester here, I have been able to make a couple of friends out of mutual interests, as well as the interactivity of the courses offered here.
I tell my friends that my school is really big and that we are so close to the beach, SOOOOO close!
We are one of the largest state universities in California. This means we have a large diversity in the backgrounds of students that you will interface with. Also, they have an excellent Psychology program.
I always say how I was so involved and made so many friends while participating in on-campus activities and 0ff-campus activities. I talk about how everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I talk about how I always have a few friends who I keep in touch after the class semester is over and we only see each other around campus. The campus is that friendly.
How most of the teachers genuinly want to help the students, and how ASI really wants students to feel welcome.
My school has a beautiful campus and, though it is large, the exercise is great.
California State University - Long Beach is the highest ranked among other CSUs. We have the biggest campus compared to other CSUs. In Southern California, CSULB has the next highest student population after UCLA. In addition to that, we also have the second biggest campus after UCLA.
Long Beach State is a fascinating school and it has a culture of it's own. The students, faculty, and staff are extremely friendly and supportive. There is something on this campus for everyone. You have your fraternities and sororities, cultural groups, dance teams, sports teams, student government, and most importantly if you are not happy with the organizations out there, you can create your own! Long Beach State is not only a place to achieve academically, but it is also a place to create beautiful memories with lifelong friends. you can call family.
I enjoy the welcoming and intellectual atmosphere of my school. I also love the location of the university, which offers great weather and exciting life in the city of Long Beach, and its proximity to sports, culture, and artistic activities in the Los Angeles area.
We have an excellent kinesiology program, which I am attending. Our facilities for fitness and sports are amazing and available to everyone. The campus is open and beautiful, and the people there are there are just as open and friendly.
The school has a lot of variety and the General Education courses were some of my favorite classes. I was able to be friends with a variety of different ethincities and personalities that helped me respect others and not judge them. The school was good to me.
I brag about my sorority which I joined to get involved and meet people. It has been a great experience so far and I'm excited for the rest of my college experience. I am surrounded by great girls who always make sure I'm having a good time and enjoying life. It's quite expensive but I wouldn't trade it for anything!
About the cheap cost of my education that is quite equivalent to any university really.
We have the beach right next door & downtown long beach as well.
When people ask me what college I attended, I immediately respond "GO BEACH!" If they don't already know I went to CSULB, then they do now. Long Beach state takes pride in their school spirit and it is definitely shown everywhere on campus. I still wear the sweaters, carry around my "I love LB" recycled bag, and still go to Dirtbag Baseball games. I also tell friends that I have met some really interesting people who continue to amaze me with their knowledge and heart. The experiences and memories still continue as I am getting my Masters Degree.
I tell them that CSULB is a fun environment filled with fun, down-to-earth students. And the fact that I am getting a great education for very cheap. It also has opened a lot of different opportunities for me to learn more outside the classroom.
On aerage bring up the fact that the school I am at now, Claremont Graduate University, is a nationally recognized top ranked school. In addition I mention how helful and friendly people are at my school.
I brag to my friends about the hundreds if not a thousand classes at my disposal. There are so many class choices that if I think it is a concept worth teaching, it probably exists. And even if its a concept not worth teaching, it probably exists too.
WHAT I BRAG ABOUT THE MOST WHEN I TELL MY FRIENDS ABOUT MY SCHOOL ARE THE AMAZING TEACHERS THAT WE HAVE HERE. I CAN GLADLY TELL THEM ABOUT THE WAY MY CLASSES ARE RUN. USUALLY, THEY HEAR ME TALK A LOT ABOUT THE PROFESSORS THAT I HAVE AND HOW I THOUGHT THAT I WOULD NOT FIND INSTRUCTORS THAT CARED FOR OUR LEARNING IN COLLEGE. NEVERTHELESS, I HAVE ENCOUNTERED GREAT PROFESSORS WHOSE MAIN GOAL IS TO GUIDE US ON OUR WAY TO SUCCESS.
I tell my friends that Cal State University of Long Beach is a beautiful campus. The campus has a Japanese Garden that can be used for weddings, tours, or just to relax. There's a blue pyramid that is used for sports game. In the years I was attending the Volleyball team would win most of the games. The school has many competitive programs, such as the nursing, criminal justice, social worker, and so on. In 2002, the school was rank the third place for being the best public school in the west coast.
It's next to the beach!
When i brag about my school, I brag about the multi-culture environment. Cal State Long Beach is fortunate enough to have a diverse amount of students who attend the campus. This diversity provides a proper representation of all the cultures and ethnicities around the world. Having people from different backgrounds promotes a sense of togetherness around campus. I have friends from around the world and it has given me a new found appreciation for the differences and similarities between human beings.
I brag that i go to a good university and the area is nice along witht he people. My school is has high academic rating which also shows how my school is superiorto some of the competition.
I brag about the Learning Alliance program that I am in, where I had classes with the same people during my freshman year, to help me transition into college. The program provides me with academic advising, and the friends that I have met there motivate me to do well in my classes. I keep an intellectual correspondence with some of the friends that I have met there. But I would like to say that because of Learning Alliance, I have a new found love for Philosophy, of desiring to obtain knowledge.
California State University, Long Beach is said to be one of the top universities in the nation. The professors are all professionals in the subject they teach. For example, I am in the communicative dissorders department and my instructors are practicing speech pathologists, some with their doctorate degree. Often times, the professors provide students with examples from their current practice that relates to the material being discussed in class.
My school allows an individual the opportunity to continue education and maintain a health balance in one's life as well.
I often inform them that Cal State Long Beach is a very good school. Its rated in the top three. I also inform them that people like Steven Spielberg, Steve Martin, and the Carpenters attended this campus.
My school gives me an opportunities to work with different people with different ethinicity, interest, background and experiences.
Their theatre department is fantastic, and is open to everyone.
That I met some of the most amazing people that will be in my life forever. I still talk to my favorite teachers. All of my closest friends I met in College.
When I talk about my school, I brag about the limited space or the accepting of applicants. Many people are rejected from this University, and it makes me feel as though though the University is truly searching for those with potential. I also brag about the professors that teach within the school. Though, they are all highly educated, there are a few that stand out for their success. To name a few, Professor Karanga invented Kwanzaa, Erin Grumwell who is known for her teaching methods. Also, to name a few alumni's: Steve Martin and Steven Spieldberg.
I brag about how close it is to the beach and how beautiful the scenery is. I also brag about the excellent financial aid packets as well as the on campus resource centers.
I brag about the extraordinary amount of cultural diversity our campus has, and how the diversity has given me such an increased amount of knowledge and understanding of all different kinds of people. I love that!
The amount of activities, clubs, and academic help they could find if they were to attend Cal State Long Beach. I mostly educate them on how socially diversed the campus really is, and how much nicer it is than most Cal States. I also mention the amount of services such as financial aid, tutoring, and other services that they would receive everytime they have any questions about their current standing at the school.
Although the campus is very large, you don't feel unnoticed. I tend to brag most about the location of the school, being near the beach, and the people i've met while i've attended. The beach is my home away from home and the area is so nice if you enjoy city life. I've met some great people that will be friends for life while at Long Beach, most of which were through living in the dorms on campus. It was the best experience that i've had thus far.
The only thing amazing about this school is the baseball team.
THE DIVERSITY OF THE SCHOOL AND FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT.
the beach is just 10 mintutes away!
I talk mostly about the variety of extra curricular clubs and activities. I also talk a great deal about one of their campus outreach programs, the gorgeous weather, the pretty campus and the over all friendly atmosphere.
The amount of majors offered in comparison to UC campuses.
Lots of dining options. Spaced out
It's a lot of homework, and i'm busy with work to help pay for college, but there is the beach just a couple of miles away.
That our campus is big and green :)
The beach is so close!
I tell my friends that my school has a very good program for my major .
