I wish that I had know that the school wasn't really that bad. Living in Lawton my whole life, everyone always joked that if you went to Cameron, you'd never make it out of Lawton or Oklahoma. The thing is they have some of the most interesting and talented faculty there, and with the low cost of school, it's a pretty good decision.

What I wish I would have known would be to talk to my advisor about the classes I need to take and when to take them. I wish I knew how well the curriculum was built for the nursing degrees. I could have taken a few more classes online before I arrived to help get my degree faster.

I wish I would have known to apply for more scholarships. Even if I knew there was a chance I wouldn't get them, I still should have tried. Also, not to mess around too much in high school because college professors aren't easy on you at all about late homework!

When I was young I naturally dreaded the "hard work" I knew college would bring. I would've liked to know it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be but also fully understand the long hours of time that had to be invested out of class.

The importance of a 4.0 GPA.
