Colorado State University-Fort Collins Top Questions

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Taylor

I really wished i had, had a better idea of what i wanted to study. I really didn't know what i wanted to do after graduation so it took me a little while to decide what really interested me. If i had, had a little more guidance as a senior in high school i think it would have helped a lot.

I wish I would have had more knowledge of what I wanted to do. I am currently undeclared, and although I am getting alot of help, I wish I knew what direction I wanted to go in.

I wish I had known how financial aid can be a difficult thing to attain depending on your socioeconomic status and other critiques. Another thing would be how many credits it would take to attain my degree in terms of both the types of classes and years in college. Finally, I wish I had known how friendly and open the students and staff at this school were and how they are truly life savers when it comes to my higher education.

First, I wish that I had known how the big class sizes would be on a reserved, shy, hands on student like myself. I wish I had known that on such a big campus, my advisor would never know my name and subsequently would never really care about my educational success. I wish I would have known that tuition would increase over thirty percent in the course of three years on that I would qualify for latterly no aid but a loan and that the financial aid office would take no incentive to help understand you situation.

Patrick

How expensive the cost of living was.

Brian

Coming from a high school class of 39 students I wish I would have known my first class at CSU would be over 400 students. That class size took a little while to get used to, but it became easier as I advanced out of the general education classes and into more specific ones with much smaller class sizes.
