Eastern Florida State College Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

Shelby

Overall Eastern Florida State College is a beautiful campus with an excellent staff. The worst thing about being at EFSC is the announcements of sports at the campus. I play softball and attend the Palm Bay campus where softball is the only sport that attends this campus. Almost all of the students who attend the Palm Bay campus do not know that EFSC has a softball team. The amount of people who attend the softball games are small, but I believe there would be more support if students were aware of the games going on.

The worst thing about my school is when you are registering as a first time student they don't give you all the information you'll need at once so you might end up going back three or four times before being fully enrolled.

Carrie

The most horrible thing seems to me, the complete lack of class diversity. BCC contains only the most basic classes needed for one?s AA degree. There is no point in looking for a Mythology class, a Muppets: Jim Henson?s Art course, or anything offbeat and interesting. It is due to this lack of variety that I am unable to experiment in different areas in an attempt to discover my major area of interest. I have a few general ideas, but would enjoy testing the waters and exploring various facets of those paths.

The worst part about my school are the guidance counslers. They're supposed to know specifics, but whenever you have a question, they can never seem to answer it. So I never know if I'm doing the right thing in order to move into my intended direction.

Jacqueline

The worst thing about my school is the limiting classes per campus a person can take. In order to finish my degree, I had to go to two different campuses during some semesters.

Brandon

I think the worst thing about my school is the location. The town my school is in is not very interesting. Its kind of a boring town and it is not much to do. My school is located in a small town in Brevard county.

Amy

The worst thing about BCC would have to be the limited classes in specific areas there are to take. They do have a lot of classes for you to experiment different fields, but you can't really get in depth in any electives or specific fields of study.

Dianna

Honestly the only bad thing are some of the available class times. Sometimes a class I'd like to take is the same time as a class that I need to take. It's a little frustrating when you are trying to fit in as much as possible during your two years here.

One of the worst things about Brevard Community College is that the cafeteria does not stay open longer than what it does and that there is not a lot of food choices nearby the main campus (Cocoa). Another would be which is and should be expected from any college or university, is that the college bookstore can run out of certain items (such as textbooks) that may take a few days or a few weeks.

Stormie

Brevard Community College is a great school, of course there will always be that one thing that annoys you during your College experience but nothing terrible. For me it was 7am classes because the other classes all filled up three months prior to me realizing that it was possible, expensive books and prerequisites to be minor speed bumps.

The worst thing about my school is that all schools are not like it. Universities are big, cost a lot of money, and are very impersonal when it comes to the teaching methods. I can't imagine what could be worse than being able to go to school in my own community, as I develope close and beneficial ties with those right here, who can help me succeed. There's also nothing worse than having class sizes so small that one can go and get help during their office hours or after class.

Alexandra

At first there was nothing that bothered me I went there for years becasue of dual enrollment but now it seems to be an extension of high school for the slacker students who 's parents make them go to college

Altora

The worst thing about my school is the low diversed culture there. It can make one feel somewhat uncomfortable in the environment.

Christine

Honestly, I don't have any complaints about BCC. I have earned 3 degrees from them and transfer to UCF in Spring 2010.
