First and foremost , decide what you want to do in college , no , I don't mean just coursework , but what you want to do . Second , decide how much debt you're willing to incur in the course of your education. And finally ,climate , if you can't stand the climate of the area of the country where your school is , you'll be miserable no matter what .

I hope there is a change in the school. Ever since we got our new President tradition has gone out the window, and that's what this school is all about. Not to mention there needs to be more activities to get us in the community, and to allow us to make friends, if there isn't a oppurtunity then it won't happen people will stick with what is confortable for them. So there for I really like this survey and I hope it has an impact.

Absolutely the number one thing to do is a tour! Check the campus out, check out the dorms, ALL of them not just the ones they show you on the guided tour because most likely they will show you the nice new ones, and freshman are usually stuck in the old ones. After the guided tour walk around by yourself and explore, go to a sporting event or sit in on a class. Also make sure that what you want to major is offered and make sure that it is a good program. Schools with large general education programs take up alot of your time and money. Lastly once you get to college, don't go home for one month. It may seem hard, but going home alot at the begining will make you miss out on alot of what college is. Good Luck.

Make sure you find a school that you'll fit into. Socialize with your floormates because they will most likely be your first friends. Go to any club you think you'll like. Your paying for them so why not go and maybe get some free food out of it? Also find out when concerts, comedians and solo artists are coming to campus because that is usually free entertainment.

Make sure to look at every single detail about the school, asks plenty of questions and be absolutely positive that it is what you want. Parents remember its your child's choice and their wants, and students remember that you're parents are just trying to help you and they are sad that you are leaving. Students fill out all of the scholarships that you can, I know that its a pain but will help out extremely well, you will be happy when you have that extra money to help. Money is scarce but don't fret everyone is poor in college, everyone gains weight, everyone losses themselves at some time, don't worry time will pass and you will look back and wonder why you worried. First thing first, decide wht you want to go into, and go from there, looking for schools that have a good program in that field. I was interested in graphic design, and i heard that they had a good program here at Edinboro University and it was close to home. Be sure of what you want, because if you are not sure of what you want, any road will get you there.

The university experience is what YOU make of it. Your degree is only a piece of paper. If you want to succeed, you have to get involved and learn as much as you can as soon as possible. Don't expect to be qualified to do anything simply because you have been graduated from a university. Teach yourself; in today's sham of an educational system, nobody else is going to do it for you.

Don't worry about you're appearance, or being accepted, or giving into peer pressure. The right group of friends will find you and you will ultimately be happy. You don't have to be someone you're not to have friends. Those who make you do things like that are not your friends!
