I love it!! I am currently a freshman in the Nursing program, I plan on graduating in 2020. I live on campus @ Bryant place. I love the independence of being on my own and making my own decisions. I enjoy walking to classes and having the café close by. The professors and staff are awesome!!

I love Fairmont State and the over all experience here as a student. The teachers really care about the students, there isn't a time that I don't feel like I can't go to my teacher or a different teacher and ask for help. The dorms and a lot of the Ra's love to make the dorms feel like home at much as possible. I love the pride in the school and there a lot of students that are happy here, there is a very happy vibe here and in the students in general. I would recommend this school to anyone.

FSU is a small university that offers smaller class sizes and focuses mainly on students. The staff is great and the professors really try to make sure you are comfortable with what you are doing. Most are available out of class during office hours and some even are readily available through email. The facilities are great too! The library is a nice place to go and the people that work there are primarily concerned with helping students. The food is pretty good too. The only bad thing about FSU is the parking is sometimes bad.

Fairmont State is a great place for me to attend because it's close to home so I can see my friends and family any time. I attended a different college my first semester of freshman year and it was actually a little hard on me being away from everyone.

The campus is a nice medium size. The faculty is nice. I never had good success with the admissions office. I would've been an out of state student, but the degree that I really wanted was not offered there.

You are smart and you can do "this" ! You do not have to be ashamed of the poverty that you have grown up in, or your dysfunctional parents. Do not allow your circumstances to dictate who you are. Who you are comes from so much more than the "family" name known in a small town. Figure out the direction you want to go then surround yourself with people who are on the same journey, and people who have already successfully traveled the path you have choosen. If someone wants to help you it does not mean that they feel sorry for you, want to use you or abuse you. They may see the spark in your eye, the drive, the ambiition. It is okay to accept help. Part of being idependent is knowing when you need help. The destination is worth the journey! God is bigger than all else.
The university did a wonderful job during the enrollment process of informing me about the university and their education process. I do not feel that nothing was left unmentioned and i found no suprises.
I have not find anything negative about my university.

The classes are generally smaller.
The course content.
Most of my classmates are very driven, kind, and compassionate.

The very first thing I would tell myself would be to start saving more money and to apply to every single scholarship possible. I am getting ready to make the move from West Virginia to Texas and a couple extra grand would be very nice. I would recommend applying to more scholarships so that I wouldn't have had to take out so many loans. Graduating debt free would have been one of the nicest things to happen. I would also tell myself to start preparing for graduate school much sooner. I wish I had an extra year now to apply for scholarships, fellowships, grants, etc.
The most frustrating thing about Fairmont State University is the availability of classes. Many classes are only offered in either the fall or the spring semesters which can make it nearly impiossible to schedule classes or graduate on time. Also, the more difficult courses tend to be scheduled together so your schedule can often be bogged down with three difficult courses making the semester a little harder.

To me the best thing about this university is that its small campus with everything you need close by. People are friendly , professors are helpful. But to most of the local people there is a belief that West Virginia University in Morgantown is much better then Fairmont State University because its bigger but I've heard from students who used to go there otherwise. We have a very beautiful campus with every kind of facility you can think of. Students often hang out in the library or cafataria in Falcon center. Also they can go to gym and play whatever game they like. The recent complain that I can think of was from the residence hall. Due to recent modification of the buildings alarm system. Fire alarm often goes off and students have to come out in the open in the middle of the night.
People are really friendly here and being a geek is cool

I have learned how to put more effort than I thought I could. There is a point when you are staring at the homework monster wanting to give up and cry because you know 90% of this won't be on the final, only 50% will be on the test and in the long run it won't do anything more than remind me of this moment of pain you are having. The teachers know the homework isn't the best way to test your understanding or abilities, you know it, the entire school system knows it. Yet they still want it all turned in word -perfect and right then, at that moment, you just want to give up and give in. Instead you pick the easiest thing first and work it, then the next and the next and the next until all you have left is an essay that is a thousand pages in a style you've never heard of. Next time you pick the hardest thing first and when you wake up late for a test the next morning, skidding into your seat seconds before the teacher, easy is all that's left and that's beautiful.
