Going to Marshall University was the best decision I have ever made. The people here are truly wonderful, from the students to the professors to the employees of the university. The new facilities are wonderful, and my favorite places on campus are Morrow Library, the Rec, and Towers Marketplace. I wouldn't choose any other school over Marshall if I was doing the college search process over again.
I have really enjoyed my two years at Marshall University and I’m grateful to have chosen it as my school. Although it is a big small, I still feel like I’m getting the coveted college experience that you see in movies and TV shows. My class sizes have been manageable and my professors have always been available.
Ever since I was in high school, I always wanted to come to Marshall University to continue my education. Marshall University is a perfect fit for me, and my education needs. Their tradition and values are something that I have, and will always admire. Every person here at and around Marshall University is very helpful, and want you to succeed in anything that you do.
Overall, Marshall University is a great college. I enjoy all the activities they provide on campus. I prefer a smaller campus and classes, which makes Marshall a perfect fit for me. The professors go out of their way to make sure the students understand the material and help in any way they can. I feel safe on campus but I always travel with someone just to be extra safe. The pride and respect the students have for the university is unbelievable. I just love Marshall!
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Marshall University is 89%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
My college experience so far has been great. I have connected with many people on campus and made many friends. The professors are great and care about your education. It has been valuable to attend because there is always a friendly face, and there is always someone willing to help you reach your goals.
It isn't very personal, and doesn't help reveal your hidden intrests that you are unaware of. I think it doesn't influence you on a personal level. I have a tough time finding the unknown intrests in my life in order to persue my future.
My classmates at Marshall vary in work ethic, some are very bright and they can pick up on concepts easier, some don't come to class, and then the rest are a mix of mastry and below mastry students.
I love the homey feel of it and living in the Sorority house with my Sisters! I always have someone to study with or hang out with or be around all the time. I think Marshall has a diverse amount of programs and classes with good Professors that enjoy teaching and being around kids. It just makes it feel like a home away from home!
I left high school with poor studying skills, although I was an A-student. the teachers at Marshall University expect their students to learn the respective disciplines; therefore, each student is responsible for studying the material. During my Freshman year, I had trouble studying, but I eventually found techniques that work for me and made the Dean's List for both terms.
Anyone can attend this school. It's very open.
Any person of any background can attend this school and succeed.
I brag about how the campus has a great atmosphere. I also tell them about how well people on campus interact with each other and the professors.
Marshall University is a diverse enviornment which makes for a good learning eviorment becuase you can learn other cultures and points of views of others, and be able to further your learning by others experiences and making new ones of your own.
My school, Marshall University, is best known for their outstanding school spirit and loyalty. Every person who has ever attended Marshall University would agree with my statement. No matter if our sports teams are ranked number one or one hundred the students, staff and community remain loyal to this school one hundred percent. This has to be one of the biggest reasons Marshall University attracts so many students and even visitors. Marshall is not just a university, it's a family.
one unique aspect of marshall university is the laid back atmosphere. the pressure for success is not the most important thing on campus which allows students to enjoy other aspects of life.
The financial aid is not released until days before the semester starts.
I think the best thing about this school is the staff. We have great teachers who really want you to learn and educate you fully. If I could change one thing, it would be the location, we are in the middle of a very dangerous neighborhood with a lot of criminal activity. My favorite thing is school pride, which we pretty much swim in here at MU!
Difficult for students that think that they are still in High School and refuse to study. You are not in high school. Somethings will come easy while others you will need to work on. If its to easy you picked the wrong school, as well as if its way too difficult you might want to rethink your choice.
Well being in west virginia people seem to think the school is a bunch of rednecks. That is not totally true. There is a good mix of students here and not just one "type" of student.
As mention earlier Marshall has 13 fraternities and 7 sororities. Also, campus has a handful of student run activities and if there is something that is not here you and your friends with a professor sponsor can add the group.
I loved the campus and the some of it. I also like to travel and meet new people so I thought it would be a great way to get to meet new people by going some where no class to home.
Alot of people seem to think college jocks and greeks do a lot of partying and things of that nature but it isn't true. Sure, some of them do but in the same way that some band kids do or some science majors do. One of the great things about college is that you don't have stereotypical cliques like you did in high school.
As an out of state student, whenever I would tell my friends I was going to Marshall, they would ask why. The academic reputation is completely unknown out of state, and mostly known for it's decent football team in the 90's and their unfortunate plane crash in the 70's. Otherwise, no one really knows anything about Marshall. I went because it was one of the few schools with a good sports management program, and wanted to experience a different culture. West Virginia as a whole gets a really bad rep, and are truly misrepresented by the national media, seeing people with one tooth talk about the flood that swept away their home. My friends would joke and say all the kids at Marshall have incest and work on a farm.
My first game day! Marshall was nothing but a sea of green and everyone was cheering and pumped up all day for the first big game. It was all we talked about in class and out of class. I had never been to a college football game before and boy was it an experience! Everyone yelling and screaming, the band and blaring speakers, and the excitment was incredible!
