Fisk University is best known for it's history. The history of the Jubilee Singers, the history of the students rising up and protesting and also the history of the buildings and everything that has happened on this illustrious campus.


Fisk University is best known for its world-famous Fisk Jubilee Singers, and was the first African-American institution to gain accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.


While other schools are known for their sports, Fisk is besk known for its academics and music programs. The Fisk Jubilee Singers have travelled the world and raised money to help keep the school open. Also, Fisk is striving to be the best small liberal arts university in America. Academics is important. Fisk's academic courses are rigourous and labor intensive. The Core curriculum classes drives home the importance of academics.

Back in the day, when many thought Fisk University was going to close due to the lack of money, a group of student singers decided to raise money for their beloved school. They called themselves the Jubilee SIngers and they traveled all around the world raising enough money to keep the school open for years to come.
