honestly i'm not sure what FIU is best known for. students who go there would probably say it's the parties or extracurricular activities. personally i love the ponds and animal life on-campus. there are amazing ponds with turtles and fountains in them. FIU is supposed to be the top research university, but so far i haven't really found out why. when you're just taking general requirements and education prerequities you don't really end up in classes that involve research participation.

Florida International University is best known for its unbelievable rate of growth. The first class of the FIU Law School graduated in 2007 while the new football stadium was being built. The first home game at the stadium was played this September (2008), while preparations for the finishing of the medical school were being made. The medical school expects to be up and running by August 2009. FIU is constantly growing, constantly improving, and people are taking notice.

Florida international university is well known for their diversity amongst the student population. It is also known for being able to cater to a variety of cultures so that no one is to feel out of place or unwanted.

Strong school spirit, Having one of the top business schools in the nation. For having a not so good football team that is slowly but surely getting better.
