That it is located in Miami, a beautiful dynamic city, However the school has no "Campus life" which makes it hard to network, make friends and have the college experience.

Come here if you want to save money. Research your department first AWAY FROM ONE OF THOSE SMILEY GO LUCKY WILLY WONKA NONSENSE TOURS MADE FOR YOU AND YOUR PARENTS WHIHC ASSUME NEITHER OF YOU KNOW HOW TO READ A MAP. Nothing historical happened here and it is an open campus so roam around like you own the place. Go to your department area and TALK to people because we want to talk to you! If you dont like FIU once youre here, you can always transfer. If you stay, you can save a truckload of cash over UM. The cafeteria is actually REALLY good for a college cafeteria....which is good because by the time you find a parking space, you will be dehydrated and hungry. Overall the only thing I really hate is the administration.

if you haven't noticed i really love FIU, in spite of some of the frustrations, i haven't had abad enough experience to make me dislike the school. but when its over and done with boy, will you be glad.

FIU has so much potential, but its not taken to its advantage due to bad prioritization, the fact that its a commuter school, and low school spirit in general.

FIU is great. We may not be UM but a lot of us got into UM and chose here. This is a great school and I'd recommend this education to anyone.

I think FIU is a great University. It has new buildins going up all the time. A large student body that creates lots of opportunites. It is located in a great spot. Its GREAT!

Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity is like the best professional development organization any one can join!!!

Alpha Kappa Psi, the professsional business fraternity that I am involved in has been the catalyst for much of my extracurricular and out-of-class experience at FIU. Form meeting many individuals within and outside the organizations, I have been able to find many opportunities to enjoy my college life. My reccomendation to anyone at FIU would be to join a student organization and take the time to meet new people. The value of our degree is complimented by the extra that we get outside of class.

FIU is home.

I have been a coordinator/team captain of FIU table tennis club for three years. FIUTTC compete every year against other schools at South Florida and we have been in 1st place. When we ask FIU to help us get a bigger space since the club is getting bigger, we have been passed around and nobody is willing to help us. We had tables that we practice and FIU threw all three of our tables that cost $500.00 each. We asked if they can replace it, FIU said NO!!! The reason why they threw it, is still a mistery. Due to that, we have to buy our own tables which costs FIUTTC all of our funds. All of our equipments came from our own pocket and we get money from membership fee and FIUTTC is always out of funds. When we go to the tournament, each members has to pay their own entrance fee. I hope this can be read by the president of FIU and hopefully he can help me and my team. FIU has a lot of students that have potential but without facilities and no support from the school, we can't do that much. I will be representing FIU for the ACUI Championship held in Minnissota on April 10-13th and THANK GOD, FIU sponsored me after I make the first move to talk to them and tell them taht I qualified for the championship. I wonder if I did not ask FIU to sponsor me, FIU won't send me.

FIU is a great school. I just wish people were a little more open-minded when it came to politics and religion. Most people get uncomfortable when those two things are talked about, solely for the reason, I think, of ignorance. Yes, it's our job to educate, but the other party needs to be willing to listen, and I think people at FIU are decided on what they want to believe.

I think FIU MUST MUST MUST do something to improve advising, make it easier fr students to speak to someone in person and find a system to help the advisors not to make mistakes during advising, in regards to requirements. Improve Parking and in addition add more places to eat!

I would really like to see FIU gain status in the international education, because most people really look down on our university, even though we have succeeded in gaining law and medical school accredidation in record time.
