What I know now I would tell myself to make lots of friends. Having friends makes it a lot easier to make threw the changes. There are going to be thousands of hard times your going to need someone to lean on besides your parents. Having friends will help you with the huge changes in school material and the other issues that come up. Also having frieds will help me make new friends that will help me not hinder me in school.

Application is key-not the actual application, but really applying yourself and putting forth 110{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} effort. They say you get out what you put in and it is the absolute truth. There is no easy way out, but hard work will come with definate rewards. This hard work will not just help you within your academic career, but once you get into the working field. Being determined, self motivating and thorough are qualities employers are looking for in long-term employees. Also remember to stay with your passion. If you are in a program or career that you truly love, no amount of money will make up for the satisfaction you get from working hard and loving it!

Angelica

I would go for what was safe. The education is typically the same with community colleges and university. Iwould attend a community college first, where I can save money, have financial aid and the ability to do other things.

Brandy

I would tel myself to stay focused. College is a big step and it is a lot different than High School. I would look at the biig picture. In college the professors are not going to hold your hand as they do in High School.

Jessica

If I were to talk to myself my senior year of high school I would not give myself any advice. I think that no matter what people tell you about college it remains an experience that you have to face on your own. When you hear stories about another persons college experiences it can sometimes be scary if it isn't a good experience. Going to college as a freshmen is scary enough, and hearing other stories about it can sometimes make that experience even more frightening or give false expectations. My college experience has been a positive one. The mistakes that I have made have all helped me learn and grow, and those mistakes shape the person I am today. If I were to repeat my freshmen year, I wouldn't change a thing.

Brittany

If I could have one wish, I would go back to my junior and senior year of high school. At age seventeen or eighteen, I really did not understand the complexity and difficulty of reality outside of the classroom. Fortunately, I've been involved in aspects of my future since I was four. My father was in the media field for forty years, and I can't imagine doing anything else. I took all media classes, and made almost straight A's. The problem was that I didn't have my priorities right. If I could go back a few years, I would tell myself to pay attention. Not just to the film classes, but to all academics. I missed the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship by one tenth of a point because I didn't stop to think about what would happen to my g.p.a. if I made a "C" in math or science. The transition from high school to college would be so much easier if I would have really focused and paid attention to all my classes, not just a select few. I would tell myself that with choices, come consequences.

Christy

Oh my... I wish I could. I never cared about high school let alone college at that age. I never felt I should care. I never felt that bright, nor did some of my family. Now I am married and have 3 children, my own company and another part time job. Finding time and or funds to take classes has been more than challenging. I would tell myself how hard it would be to try to go back. Setting an example for my kids I think would be just an effictive early on instead of trying to do it later in life. I would tell myself it was okay to take a minute and think about what I love to do and it would be alright to care. Make yourself proud, forget the thoughts of others! I would hope I would listen!

Amanda

BE PREPARED!!! Start early! Find a lot of scholarships! It wont be easy, trust me! Dont let the first school turn you down discourage you. Apply to more than just one school, apply to like 10!! Dont let distance from your current location stop you from going further! Apply to schools all around the world! Dont look just for your major but have a plan b..and plan c prepared! Dont go to a school just where your friends are going! And make sure you like things, places, entertainment around the school because you will need sometime to enjoy yourself!

The advice I would give to myself would be to open your mind. College is a new and fun experience that you should be ready for. There are many new and interesting people that you will meet and become aquainted with; there is no reason to be so nervous.

kristin

I would tell myself not to wait for starting college.

Amanda

I would give advice to myself and advice is I should study harder and to learn in a better way. I want to reach my goals and to have a good life ahead.

Brittany

I would pay attention and stay focus on whats important and not hang or attempt to go along with the wrong crowd...

Kristen

I would tell myself to work harder academically. Life is not all fun and games. Grades do matter ALOT and education is one of the things in like that I should take alot of pride in. I would also tell myself to never forget who I am as a person. Never forget the importance of independence. God is the only friend I will ever have that will never fail me and he loves me for who I am. Friends are indeed a necessity. It is no fun being alove all the time and in order to have a good friend, you must first be a good friend. I would also tell myself to not be so mean to my parents because they love me more than anything and only have my best interest at heart. My dad may be weird at times but I put him through alot and he is still always there for me and willing to do anything for me.

Heather

The advice I would give myself if I were a high school senior would be to apply for more scholarships, grants, etc. Don't just accept the loans offered. Apply for anything and everything because you never know what you may be rewarded. I would recommend getting more involved in activities, pagents, talent shows etc. which offer scholarship money. I would remind myself that $400 -$500 a month in school loans in the future is not fun. Yes I am currently a RN, but I'm also 29yrs old and still driving my first car from high school because of school loans. Too funny! I would remind myself that a new car before 30 would be nice. A large monthly school loan payment, not so much!

Jacqueline

If I could go back in time and have a conversation with myself six years ago, I would say to listen more closely to my passions, my heart, and my PARENTS. My parents always told me to go into health and be a nurse. I am strong willed and have always marched to the beat of my own drum. It took moving around a few times, dropping lots of classes, loosing my father and finally settling down in a little town by the beach and getting involved in youth ministry to finally decide I wanted to spend my life helping others. I also over came a ten year battle with Bulimia last year after loosing my dad. I would tell myself to do whatever I could to love the body God gave me. He makes us each so unique and beautiful. I had to learn many hard lessons but I would probably do things pretty much the same! "Stay true to your roots, your self, your family, and your God....you will go far. " More than ANYTHING, however, I would tell myself to spend more time with my daddy.......there are so many things I would say to him...

Catherine

Go to school as soon as you graduate, don't wait!

Eric

stay focused all the time and keep up your grades

Steven

I would have told myself to be more concerned with the future. My perspective has changed quite a bit with the wisdom of time and experience.

Candace

Nearly every student has heard a detailed explanation of things adults wish they would have done differently. While the facts that each speaker presents may be true, it is irrelevant to adolescent minds if it does not apply to their life. If i had the chance to open my eyes in high school to the knowledge i know now, I would explain the importance of time, steps, and insignificant details. The perception that huge decisions are the only thing that affect and mold our future is completely wrong. In school, and even life, it is the small, insignificant choices that we make which will affect our future so drastically. Once we realize that these small details are so vital to our lives, the importance of necessary steps must be taken. For example, each test will affect the grade, the grade will affect the transcript, and the transcript will affect the acceptance into colleges, businesses, and other institutions. Time is also a very important component to success. This part is accompanied by preparation. Our decisions and steps in life are almost subject to the deadllines and time restrictions made and demanded by those in our society and others in our world.

The advice that I would give myself was to pick a major sooner. When I entered college, I was unsure on what I wanted to be. I alway went back and forth between becoming a nurse and a pharmacist. If I decided to become a nurse, I would keep going until I became a Nurse Anesthetist. When I entered college, I decided to try and go for pharmacy instead. I worked in a pharmacy as a tech, and I thought that's what I wanted to be. I knew in my heart I really wanted to become a nurse, but my family was pushing me towrds pharmacy. I didn't want to disappoint them so I was taking all of these classes to become a pharmacist. I was also taking them at a slow pace because I was working full time and going to class part time. I have now decided to follow my dream and become a Nurse Anesthetist. If I were to go back in time, I would tell myself to go for Nursing and to not work full time while I was in school.

ALEXIS

I am going to stay in town for the first two years of college then transfer to a university.

Careylyn

Number one: Do not doubt yourself. When I was a senoir on High School I always second guessed my abilities. What I know now is that I can do anything I put my mind to, I just have to put in the work to make it happen. Life is not something that just happens to you. College is tool to help me become who I want to be. I love to learn and will most likely continue some form of education when I graduate. I hope to never lose my eagerness from new information.

Meagan

I would give myself the advice to do all you can to keep your GPA up and to apply myself more the first years of college. I'd also tell myself to leave behind all my friends from high school that weren't going to college or didn't graduate high school because they aren't going in the same direction of that my life was taking. You don't realize at 18 years old that you have consequences to every choice you make, or that you are an adult so you have to handle things like an adult. Learning what its like to be an adult before you're just thrown into the real world is important because then you can have some idea of what to expect. I'd also tell myself to apply to more scholarships and be more involved in school because looking back on my senior year with regrets is no fun.

Manuela

Be prepared to study hard and saty on track. Be ready to invest a most your time studying and preparing for tests. It might seems that there isn't much free time but it will be rewarding at the end. Don't give up easy when the "roads" feel tight and the bump get in your way, relax and you can get onto the next step. Fight for what you want and if you fall don't feel bad to ask your teachers and the students there are there for you. There are plenty of resources at schooll to help you succed just keep your strong will.

Carol

I would tell myself to start applying for scholarships very early, and to go ahead and start college during the summer instead of the fall. I would also tell myself to start saving money early so that the price for books and other fees for classes do not put you in debt. I would also infrom myself to try to be more involved in campus life, such as clubs and groups.

That I should of taken challengeing teachers for my basic classes to be more prepared for college.

Rebecca

If I could go back in time and speak to the high school senior me, I wouldn't tell it anything. I am going to this school for a reason, in high school, i was busy with my doctors appointments and preparing for another open heart surgery. By going to this school it gives me the opportunity to have time off when i had my open heart operation.

Nicolaas

If i could go back in time and give myself advice, the advice would be to study hard and keep your priorities in order. I would also tell myself to relax and better my life outside of college in order to have enough time to go to school full time and not have to worry about how i am going to aford my classes and books.
