I believe I was prepared for most aspects of Anderson University. Through multiple visits, orientation, and "Welcome Week," I was ready to deal with the new environment I had become submerged in. I do wish, however, that I could have foreseen the academic rigors of AU. I was involved in all Honors classes in high school, and I do feel like I was more prepared than some students, but I wasn't really aware of how incredibly rigorous my courses at Anderson would be. I appreciate the strong academics of AU, though, and know they will be worth it.

I wish I would have known more about the specific job opportunities within my program.

The one thing I wish I would have known before attending Franklin University is the emphasis they place on team projects. I understand the importance of teamwork, especially when preparing students for the real world, but they rely too heavily on these projects. I believe that writing and test-taking skills are also very important and should play a more integral role in a student’s education. It was extremely frustrating to have to rely on other students’ work ethics and then to have to personally put more effort into projects so my grades would not suffer.

I wish I would have had a better understanding of the financial aid process as it relates to the joint program. With three of the graduate courses counting as both some of the undergrad and graduate degree, I made a poor decision when applying for financial aid causing me to pay for two graduate courses out of my pocket. One one this was good because I didn't have to pay interest on the courses but on the other hand, it left my savings empty after paying $3,800.

I wish I would have had the ambition to go to school 20 years ago. I wish I had known it would be this easy to do.
