Somewhat. The majority of students here do coast through this college, and take the easier classes. That's a reflection of the students here though--not GVSU. You can find some really great people here if you're willing to look. There are a lot of 'jocks' though, and we are in conservative West Michigan.
The majority of students do still seem to be in that preppy-sporty high school phase. However, there is a very good chance that you will find some people you will like, if that's not your thing. Personally, I'm not preppy/athletic, but I found some people. It is more difficult though. GVSU is very sporty. Plus, it's not super difficult to get in here, so some people aren't the brightest I suppose.
