like mentioned before everything can be big, and honors college plays a big part into my life. it started out small but with more people in it and the programs that they hold, it brings a real sense of community. everyone there is great and friendly and always willing to help. its a close community and its great to be a part of it

honors college always has great progs and trips, all free too!

I'm also an Honors College student here and seriously, probably one of the better decisions I made when searching for schools. If you get the invite, don't just ignore it. Honors has a great program both academically and not.

Honors College is definitely a benefit to going to Hofstra... there's lots of extra perks and activities that we're able to do through them.

One thing I really enjoy about going to Hofstra is being part of Honors College, because it provides me with a community of students who enjoy a lot of the same things that I do.

Honors college is the best! Dean Frisina, Peggy Ann, and Dean Donahue are absolutely fantastic.

HONORS COLLEGE! if you have the option, be a part of it. they take such good care of you, and give you so many more opportunities than any other institution on campus. it also looks great on the resume, and if you felt at home in AP/honors classes in high school, the community will feel very natural to you.

Hofstra University Honors College is awesome. WE have alot of fun together and everybody helps each other with hw when needed. I really HATE lackmann as they are way over priced and the food isn't that good.

Honors College at Hofstra is such an awesome and unique experience in college. Its the perfect mix of intellectual conversation and lecture and fun activities!

HUHC is a good opportunity if you are at Hofstra. Honors students get to go to honors events, get honors housing and can take classes for honors credits. I'm filling out this survey mostly for the fundraising thingy (relay for life). I'm not able to help out directly so I hope this does some good. Sorry.

My favorite part of Hofstra is Honors College, which isn't as nerdy as it sounds. I've met some of the nicest people here, and we have many of the same interests. Honors College is one of Hofstra's best kept secrets for making a smooth transition from high school to college.

Honors College is a really great part of campus!

I'd like to use this space to talk about how great I think HU Honors College is. HUHC provides a class that brings together all of the freshmen for two semester and introduces them to a varity of texts in the humanities and the social sciences. It helps to create an important community among the honors students, which is amplified by the fact that many of us live together in the Liberty/ Republic residence complex.

WRHU & the Honors College are amazing. They make this school what it is for me personally. And I know plenty of other people here who have their own thing(s), that they are passionate about, like I am about WRHU & The Honors College. It's all a matter of putting into something what you want to get out. If you do, you're going to be successful, and have fun with it.

overall i do like hofstra i but i wish the tuition wasn't as high as it is. it makes me wonder if having a "hofstra degree" is really worth it. i've actually been seriously considering transfering, or not coming back next semester, because i can't afford the tuition here anymore! AT LEAST STOP raising the costs every semester!

Just be prepared for a lot of seriously stupid people at Hofstra.

The Wellness Center is very incompetent, at least in the experience of my girlfriend and I. On one occasion she asked specifically when making an appointment to see the one actual doctor there (who only comes in on Fridays, for some reason), and they ignored the request. She had made the appointment to switch prescriptions, but they gave her the same pills anyway, and on a separate occasion they couldn't give her the pills that they had prescribed because the prescription wasn't on file, even though she had the prescription that they had written. Besides these failures, the Wellness Center is closed on Sundays altogether and only open until 8 on every other day of the week. Also, Lackmann, the organization that provides food for Hofstra and other campuses, has horribly overpriced food for not that great quality.

Scholarship- The merit-based scholarship is established upon admittance and is monitored for failure to maintain a certain GPA, but there is no reward given by Hofstra for doing well while you are there.

Hofstra is a nice place to be, the campus is great and I can always pop in to see a teacher. The place is helpful. it is not perfect, i hate the lang requirement some of the major requirements and when classes are closed. its okay though because i can't imagine being anywhere else. You have to take the good along with the bad

It has only be my first year at Hofstra. I am a person who enjoys going to school, however, I believe that Hofstra is just a great place to learn, that sometimes I wish I could be here longer than just four years. My first year has already gone by so fast, and I imagine the rest will fly by as well. However, I will try to make the most of my time here. There is definitely alot to gain, to learn, and to see.

I can't for the life of me understand why so many people think Hofstra sucks. I went to a crappy school for a year; Hofstra is fabulous in comparison. If you figure out what you want out of life, odds are, Hofstra can help you get there.

The most imporant thing I can say about Hofstra is that you make it what you want of it. If you go into it with the idea that you are going to make the most of it, then you will. If you go into it saying that it's going to suck, than it is! Hofstra can certainly eat you alive if you let it.
