The biggest stereotype I heard before I came to Hofstra was that it was a big party school. Also once I came here, the stereotype of Long Island girls that were only accepted because of Daddy's money.

Hofstra girls are said to be ditzy, spoiled, materialistic, rude, and in most cases, Jewish. While the boys that court these so called JAP's (Jewish American Princesses), are often recognized to be tan and well-manicured themselves, their snappy, nose-to-the-sky attitudes don't prove them to be any more refined then their appearances portray them to be.

I dunno. Maybe rich kids, seeing as it is kind of an expensive school?

Hofstra stereotypes are that the students are all rich, snobby, trashy guys and girls that just want to drink and party all the time with no consequences.

There is a very large stereotype that Hofstra is full of guidos and typical rich, snobby Long Island girls. There is also something Hofstra students like to call the Hofstra run-around, meaning, whenever you need something done, every office on campus sends you somewhere else.

That people are Long Island trash, a lot of valley girls

The typical "Hofstra girl" goes tanning, is an airhead, cares more about how she looks than how she does in class, talks about her weekend obnoxiously loud while you try to write notes, may be considered promiscuous and probably isn't that good looking despite thinking she is. She is also probably in a sorority. A lot of the students have rich parents and drive expensive cars and aren't in college to really learn but only because their parents paid for it. There are a lot of stupid people at Hofstra.

Spoiled Long Island kids more concerned about the cars they drive and the jeans they wear.

Hofstra students are seen as partiers. As a Long Islander all my life, Hofstra has always been made fun of for their student body being very sexually active. In fact, people perceive Hofstra students body to be full of S.T.D.'s.

When I tell people that I go to Hofsta, a lot of the time I get a responses saying it's STD central, and that everybody parties, and to always 'wrap it up' otherwise you're guaranteed to get some mythical STD known as the Hofstra Red. I've been here for four years, and haven't seen anything drastically different from stories friends tell me from other schools. Another stereotype is that all the students are spoiled, rich, snobby people, especially the girls who wear the "Hofstra Girl" attire of mini-skirts, North Face jackets, and Ugg boots. You do see these clothes on a day to day basis, but it's also much more noticeable when you're looking out for a specific stereotype. Also, I've met many nice people who come from average income families.

I don't know if you would call it a "stereotype", but Hofstra has alot of resources and facilities.

That we are rich. That it is a rich school. That it is a bad school and we have a lot of red tape in different departments. The Hofstra Shuffle. Clubs and org are separated.

Some stereotypes about Hofstra students are that they are rich, lazy Long Island kids who have too much money and time on their hands and not enough intelligence. Due to the supposedly high rate of STDs, the "GPH" (General Population of Hofstra) is often said to be carrying the "Hofstra Red," an unknown cocktail of terrible sexual infections.

As anyone who goes to Hofstra will tell you, we sometimes get a bad rep. All you have to do is look up Hofstra on Urban Dictionary and you will get a picture of easy girls and drug-induced frat guys running a muck. As a senior, I know that those reputations can be true of some people, but I genuinely believe that it does not apply to most of us. At the heart of the student body are fun, friendly and kind students doing their best to succeed in college!

Hofstra is overpriced.

The main stereotypes that stick out in my mind are that they are all Italian tan and imitate the Gotti's. Most Hofstra students are thought to be one in the same. Another stereotype is that all the girls are rich and fake.
