Take your time and wait until it feels right. Don't worry about money as much as fit. You are spending four years there and you have to make them count, so do what feels right overall. Don't be afraid to go out of your comfort zone.

Finding the right college is all about gathering information, something I honestly did not do much of. I was attracted to Macalester because of its size, its campus, its focus on the arts and world culture. I did not really dig into specs of programs and majors at Macalester or any other college, so I would suggest doing that. I do not regret my decision to attend Macalester, but if I had to go back, I would go about becoming more informed before making that decision. Making the most of the "college experience" all depends on what you perceive as the college experience. I would say that being open to changing your mind about a lot of what you are used to is key, but so is standing firm in who you are as a person. For me, the college experience is about learning how to become responsible for myself, which requires taking courses that challenge me, balancing my schedule with extra curriculars that stimulate me as well as leaving time for my studies, taking care of my house, and getting together with friends.
