What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

It is not necessary to choose your life path from the minute you start freshman year. There are so many opportunities to try different things and find your place in the school and in the workfore before you graduate. This is your life that you"re dealing with, and it is important to make the right decision that will make you the happiest.

I wish I had known the different electives that were available to me before planning my schedule. Manhattan College has a variety of electives that can help one progress in their major. Whether it is to fight stage fright with a communications class or learning a new language with a Mandarin class, you can incorporate these electives into your career goal and advance compared to others.

I had looked up all questions I had about the school before I went, so nothing was unknown when I went.

The worst aspect in my opinion about Manhattan College is definietly the tuition and expenses that go along with that. It is a private college and it is very expensive if a student doesn't receive either a academic scholarship or help from financial aid. Other then that Manhattan College in my eyes is the perfect place to receive a great education and many different opportunities.

Before entering college, I never thought about money much. I?d never had a job, had been a minor all my life, and financially supported entirely on my mother. Being in college, on my own, I?ve really had to learn to make smart money decisions, and quick. Money management has now become a huge part of my daily life, both in terms of just regular, daily day-to-day usage, as well as in a bigger sense, in the aspect of dealing with my student loans. I just wish I had thought and learned more about money before college.

Before I came to the school, I wish I knew how to manage my time better. Last year, I socialized and worked too much. This took away from the time I needed to study. I wasn't aware how much time studying it takes to get a good GPA in college. My GPA wasn't terrible the first year, but if I managed my time better it would have been better. Everything is improving now and that is what matters.
