It is not that big of a metropolitan area, so someone who needs to be in a really big city would probably not do well. Also students that do not drink and go out a lot would probably not enjoy it as much.

It is very difficult to suggest a kind of person who shouldn't attend this school because it has a lot of variety. I would defintely suggest to someone who enjoys a major city atmosphere not to come here and possibly someone who perfers a small school atmosphere; however, although MSU is very big, depending on a person's major, they would spend most of their time in the same small area with the same people. So it is almost like a small school within a large school.

Someone who likes a lot of one on one attention, because it is such a big campus. Someone who learns better in small classroom environments.

A lazy person shouldn't come here. And it helps if you're at least somewhat social. A person who doesn't have any pride in their work or isn't self motivated should not come here at all. Anyone with bad study habits shouldn't come here.

I think people who are not serious about getting an education would be the kind of person that should not come to MSU.

People who enjoy small classes and a small campus. Also people who dont like interacting with people that arent like them or have their same beliefs.

One who does not like partying at all or does not like culturally diverse classrooms. There are parties everywhere on campus, but you do not need to go. It is very culturally diverse here, and a great study abroad program!

My school is not good for people who prefer a closer atmosphere, where everyone on campus knows everyone else. It also may not be good for people who are not outgoing because it can be hard to make friends in such a large school. People who do not like cold weather also often complain about the school because of its location.

Closed-minded people. In a liberal arts school on a huge campus that houses so many people, there is no room for those who are stubborn, bigoted, or unwelcoming.

Somebody who does not want to put in the effort to succeed in school; somebody who is intolerant (and shows it) of other people or people different from them; somebody who refuses to live in a dorm the first year of college. Most people, I feel will enjoy this school.

the person i would suggest not go to my school is someone who doesnt like to be far from home,but that goes for anywhere.

I don't believe there is a type that shouldn't attend this school. It has everything anyone could look for. If they are looking for the one on one small school help that can be found, if they are looking for friends there are a million clubs that can be joined.

Anyone who doesn't like to walk far or learn a new area that's pretty large. People who don't like to have a campus completely separate from all the businesses in the city.

A person who is very diciplined, because if your unfocused you will not pass your classes. Also has to be very outgoing andable to interact with people of other cultures.

I would encourage everyone to attend this school. However, as higher education is academically and mentally demanding any individual who is not goal-oriented, self-motivating, and focused should not attend this school. The student is in control of their own efforts and if there is a lack of determination the student will not succeed.

People who are elitist- they should go to UofM.

The kind of person who shouldn't attend this school is someone who is not ready to be on their own and be responsible for themselves. If they do not want to get involved with their schooling or the campus, Michigan State University is not the place for them.

There really isn't anyone who shouldn't attend this school. Only if they do not like cold weather.

I think that anyone can come here and find a place they fit in. Quiet students may have a more difficult time making friends, and for some going to a smaller college would be better. The large classes make it difficult to make friends in class, but the dorms are very good for that.

A person who is does not want to grow and expand and engage in different opportunitiies and experience life, background, and different ethniticities

The kind of person that should not attend this school would be an anti-social and working only priority person. If you do not have a life outside of working and do not like to be around a lot of people then this is not the place for you. The thousands of students would irritate and harass you just by walking around and being friendly.

A person with an alcohol problem because of the widespread availabity of it. Also, a person who doesn't like the loudness and huge crowds of a big school.

Someone who requires a small class to pay attention and who requires teachers to be on top of them if they don't do their work. Our professors generally leave it up to the student to finish their work, and second chances or extra credit are rare, especially if you didn't even try the assignment. You need to be responsible for your actions and for your own work.

One who isn't outgoing or like to be involved with larger groups of school spirted students.

Someone who likes small classes and a small rural atmosphere. This campus is for someone who loves all sorts of people and a big city lifestyle. Any person who isn't willing to open up and get involved in different social settings wouldn't fit well at Michigan State University.

Someone that wants very small class sizes and doesn't like big crowds. Anyone that wants a small school should not go to MSU.
