The kind of person who should attend this school is one who is focused. The students at this school know what they want to do, and they know how to get there. While they are concerned with their education, they are also concerned with helping others. The students are caring, and give much of their time in community service and assistance on campus. Most of the students come from Christian backgrounds, and have high moral standards.

As a person who grew up in a very diverse neighborhood, it was quite an adjustment to come to Ada, Ohio. However, the professors and the majority of the students I have met have made my decision worthwhile. Therefore, I feel as though almost anyone can come here, as long as you can adjust to a small town atmosphere and a relatively small school.
A highly motivated, academically focused person should attend this school. If you are only going to college to play sports or because your parents pressured you to go, Ohio Northern is NOT the school for you. We are very strong academically, and students who come here should also be strong academically and be prepared to work hard and be challenged. Also, students who have strong leadership skills and want to get involved will do well at ONU.
Determined, focused but willing to be loose and have fun and be social in a small town setting.
