Pacific is one of the friendliest places I know, and people are always willing to help you out.
Being that I am from Hawaii, it was definitely hard for me to adapt to such a new environment and a broad range of people. Pacific however has over 25% of its enrollment being student from Hawaii. It made it easier for me to adapt with such great people around me. This is my third college I am attending in the last three years and it is where I want to stay as long as I can afford it and not because such stress on my parents. Everyone at Pacific University is friendly and teachers too. I love it here.
The best thing about Pacific is the atmospher. It has a very welcoming community feeling. Teachers know their students because it is a small Liberal Arts school. Coming from the Illinois, everything is done in a fast pace mannor, and here in Forest Grove, everything is relaxed and I feel at ease for the first time in my life. Things still get done, but it's done so enjoyably.
The large Hawaii student populatiion. Being around a large group of Hawaii students takes the edge off the homesickness. The students, Hawaiian and non-Hawaiian, are friendly.
The best thing about Pacific University is the staff of world-class professors. They are passionate, dedicated, and challenging instructors, as well as exceedingly kind and supportive human beings. They demand the best from their students, pushing students past his or her comfort zone and into excellence. I am constantly forced to grow and challenge my own beliefs. My professors have helped me become a better student and a better person.
The best thing about my school would have to be the fact that the students and faculty, etc. are like a small community and you can feel comfortable here at your home away from home. I also love that the faculty and staff do their best to make you feel welcome and comfortable. They make sure you have every thing you need in order to be successful whether it is academically or socially, including any future endevours.
The instructors. They are extremely caring and helpful. They do a great job of making the material interesting.
The best thing about my school is the support from faculty as well as classmates. I have come home many days from school because of struggling with classes or clinic and have always had someone to push me and say that I could do it. I do not have a lot of family support and have never struggled in school, so I did not know how to deal with having a hard time. Having the support of faculty offering advice and help and words of encouragment plus study sessions from classmates has made my education thus far an amazing experience.
The best thing about Pacific would have to be the community. Pacific is not just a university it is a family. It is a small campus and because of this it is easy to make friends both with students and staff memebers. The University offers an atmosphere where students can be themselves and build friendships that will last forever. The staff here truly cares about each and every student and will do whatever it takes to ensure that they succeed in all their future endeavours.
There's a mass amount of cultural diversity among both the students and the faculty. So much is placed upon being an individual, and I really think Pacific University embodies this motto with not only their means of education, but by personally reaching out to each student as best as they can.
The instruments in the chemistry department, because there is nothing else that is good about this school!
The liberal atmosphere
The best thing about Pacific University is the amount of opportunities the school provides for the students. Not only academically, but career-oriented as well. I am planning on double majoring in Psychology and Social Work and through Pacific University I got a job an the Washington County Sheriff's office, which will help me tremendously for the future. Also, professors in particular fields are extremely knowledgable and know exactly how to accomadate students into their desired work field.
I like that the class sizes are small. It gives everyone the individual attention they need from professors to maximize each person's ability to learn all material.
Professors. They are very dedicated.
How professors will be there for you and help you.
The professors. They are all so amazing, they are open and friendly with the students. There are many time that I have been to the home of a professor to work on personal projects, even to baby sit one of their children. You will form a close bond with your professors here.
I love that it's so diverse here and everyone is so friendly and helpful. The class sizes are also a great thing because I've gone to small private schools my entire life, so it wasn't too much of a change to add on to the culture change coming from Hawai'i to the mainland.
