First, I attend a Penn State Campus in DuBois PA but that was not listed in the choices. It is a small campus, professors are knowledgeable and helpful. The classroom size is small. It is a safe campus and for its size there are many activities for all who wish to participate.

Matthew

Penn State Pride, Dedication, and its Alumni are like no other. While attending Penn State you will learn not only what is required scholastically, but also practical life skills that will help in everyday situations. The programs and professors at Penn State are committed to an all around complete preparation of thier students. The Career Services building is dedicated to placing you in a suitable position upon graduation, and in doing so holds numerous on-campus career fairs catered specificly to different majors and niches. The friends you meet here will be forever... and I know that for a fact!

Gabrielle

Penn State is, by far, the largest school out of all of the schools I applied. Although there are approximately 40,000 students attending Main Campus alone, it does not feel like such a large school.

Ben

Amazing honors program!

Michael

What's unique about Penn State compared to the other schools that i applied to is that Penn State is so career focused. I came to school to get a degree and find a job that would set me on the path to be successful. My major has allowed me to be introduced to so many companies that I don't even know what to do with all the opportunities. I love this school and strongly encourage anyone interested in this school to come visit for a weekend and experience the atmosphere that the student body creates.

Amy

the school spirit is amazing, huge alumni base

Meghan

Penn State is an amazing school because it offers so much for any kind of student. It's a great place to learn and experience college life.

Laura

My years at Penn State have taught me more than what I could have expected to gain from a college education. I have been able to take classes on many different and interesting subject matters, and I have also been the given the chance to take part in many different activities that, had I not been at Penn State, I would not have been able to enjoy. Penn State has a place for every one who is accepted to be accepted whether that be in social clubs, academic honors, or just by making friends that will last a lifetime. At first, Penn State can seem overwhelming because of its size, but it quickly looses its daunting first impression and becomes very endearing.

Tom

No kidding, if you like to party, yet not get drunk and rowdy, go to frats that aren't considered hot shit. These brothers get drunk and start yelling and making everyone miserable by making unnecessary drama. Lower key frats are the ones that throw down just as hard, are just as packed, and yet keep the yelling and drama out, plus you can actually get a beer without begging and pleading. Only thing about the party scene is that if you do enjoy frat parties, if you disrespect the place you'll be outside within a minute, not anything you shouldn't follow anyways.

Kelly

Honestly don't know anyone who came to psu who didnt like it. It doesn't matter if you drink or not, there is always something to do!

Harper

Penn state is fun.

Kate

Penn State is the best school. Everyone loves it. WE ARE!

Ashley

When I was a senior in high school I was so against going to Penn State. I wanted to get as far away from home as possible and go to a school no one else was going to. Well, I did it and then I transferred to PSU after I realized just how expensive and exhausting NYC was. I have never been happier. I love Penn State and I can't believe that it was under my nose the whole time. I am never bored. However, I must warn everyone. If you hate Winter find another school! But, if you can deal with it, there is nothing better than PSU in the Spring and summer.

Mike

Come to PSU it's the best place in the world. If you can find a student body that loves their school more than PSU does, I'd love to hear where this school is.

Jeff

PSU has large internship/career fairs in the fall and spring, and those are great opportunities to meet with recruiters looking to hire students.

Jon

Overall, Penn State is definitely what they say, "A drinking town with a football problem." However, that doesn't fully describe what we have to offer. It's a great place to find a job, and a good place to make friends.

Karen

Penn State is a joke. Academics are not difficult; students - as a whole - are not motivated, but rather live up to the derogatory stereotype of being Animal House wannabes. The lack of emphasis placed on football makes you wonder what most students chose this particular college for: preparation for their future, or an excellent tailgating season.

Caitlin

Tell students to get plugged in! Find friends! Good friends are better than good drinks. For those who are worried about the size of Penn State, it takes only getting to know a handful of people to make you feel right at home.

Ali

All in all, I love Penn State and I don't know any PSU students who don't love it. It is a great place to be and I couldn't be happier that I ended up here.

Melissa

Overall, I feel that my time at Penn State was not all that different from a college experience that I would have had elsewhere aside from the fact that it will help me make a connection later in the business world simply for the sheer size of the alumni. I will say, though, that this doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy my time here. In fact, I was in college every semester except for one summer. I'm a doer. I've tried a lot. I've explored a lot. I've experienced many emotional ups and downs and what I've learned is that everyone is going through something similar. You're never alone, but you'll never be fully understood. All you need to do is be true to yourself, hold on to as many friends as you can, and enjoy the ride; really, that's all life's about anyway.

Alex

Penn State is a "college-y" type college. If you want to attend a college that looks like it's from a movie, that's Penn State. It is pretty good all around, doesn't specialize in too much (except meterology and turf management apparently) but it's great if you want the quintescential All-American college experience. Plus it's in a beautiful area, great little town, good people. Just be prepared to live 9 months out of the year as winter. It's like freaking Canada.

kristen

I LOVE PENN STATE.

I went to Penn State because it was the best school for the major that I wanted to be in coming out of High School. It had the best program, best faculty, best campus, and it was close enough to live at home if I needed to. I wanted to move away from my home town, but decided that I wanted to see what would happen to all the people I had known in high school and how they would change. I also figured that if I wanted to change majors it was the best place to be, given the huge range of majors and classes. However, in retrospect, now that I know more about colleges and about myself, I wish I had gone to a smaller, more urban liberal arts school. The Liberal Arts and Arts in General at PSU are not very interchangeable, and the truth is that I was never going to be able to make the change to a math/science kind of major (which is really where PSU has the majority of its worthwhile majors). So, if you're an undergraduate reader, a painter, a dancer, an explorer, I say go elsewhere, for your own sake (unless maybe you're in one of those math/science majors). In my experience, people aren't doing a lot of personal growth at PSU. They aren't exploring or searching for something unnamed. They know what they want, and it's "work hard, party hard." They want a piece of paper to get them a good job in a certain field, and they want to live the MTV experience on weekends, and watch it on TV on weeknights. But of course that's just my take.

Robin

Penn State is generally very boring. If you're not into drinking or partying, you've got to work a little to find people worth hanging out with. If you find those people, you've got to be assertive in talking to them. It's generally pretty stupid. Also cold... very cold.

Michael

I recommend students study abroad, atleast for a summer semester, and to participate in some sort of club or organization. Boxing and working here have made me very structured and organized.

Alicia

PSU isn't perfect, but what you can make of it is. There is a time to play and a time to work, at PSU we've found the perfect medium.

Dana

I love my school.

Abi

I love Penn State. It is my home (far) away from home. I'm from Ohio, so I only make it home for long breaks, but I can't say I've ever been homesick. Between activities, classes, and friends the school year goes so quickly. It's the summer and winter breaks that seem to drag on forever. I cannot stress enough how much this university forms to fit your needs. I'm a small town girl and my best friend is from Philly, and we love PSU equally. It can be anything you want to make it, you don't have to change to fit it at all.

Ali

I'm not going to lie; I love to go out and drink. After all, I was voted "Biggest Partier" by my high school class. I wanted a school where I would be able to have a lot of fun. Yet I'm also a good student. I've made the Dean's List every semester, and I'm at the top of my class. I might not apply myself as best as I can, but I wanted a school for both a good time and a good education. And here, I get both. You don't have to be a huge partier here. In fact, there are so many alternative things to do if you don't drink. But I have to admit, it helps.

Kat

Our news system is great here; the newspaper really does a great job of telling stories that are going on as well as advertising different events. I found out about a free practice LSAT that the university was offering. Plus they constantly have information about bar specials or different theater productions going on. Also, they have a great online system. Angel, an online system to communicate with classmates and professors, does a great job of assisting in the learning process. Teachers can post powerpoints from classes or send out class email. Web classes are so easy to keep track of because of Angel.

Couple last comments..... - Can PSU please put together a decent plow truck movement, so us bikers can get to class without spinning out - Don't even attempt to bring a car, my advice, you are just going to spend hundreds, I'm serious, on parking tickets and $100 a pop for getting towed. And, don't think for a second your can put your hazards on for 20 minutes, they are on top of their game here. - Definitely check out the ski slopes at Tussey Mountain a couple of times in the winter, along with Whipple's Dam in the summer. Great times with awesome memories. - If you get a underage drinking ticket, and you probably will, don't freak out. There are numerous programs you can do to serve your time. Penn State tries to claim they have one of the driest campuses this side of the Mississippi. Just keep your fake ID back at home and never ever use it here. The bouncers and cops have a great system to get you good.
