Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Hazleton Top Questions

What's unique about your campus?

The professors are really down to earth and know how to get across what they want you to know. The student community seems to be very close knit and extremely friendly. Even the lunch ladies make you feel welcome. The classes are designed to better prepare you for college during your first two years of college, which was extremely helpful to me. There are often activities on campus and going to any Penn State campus allows access to all Penn State events.

The best thing about my school now is the small campus and small classes. With less students in each class, teachers can focus on individual students and help them specifically with what they need. Students are less intimidated by the small classes, so they get to ask more questions and with that available we can ask better questions each semester.

I consider the tutor services provided by my school the best help there. This program provides help to whom ever may need it. This allows students that may be ashamed about their lack of knowledge, or even embarrassed by teachers to reach to someone for assistance.

The best of all is THON - a PSU Dance Marathon which is held annually to help conquer childhood cancer. Another thing about my campus is that it is small in size. Its a great thing because it allows face time with your teachers, but it's terrible when it comes to social life. The professors are easy to reach. The advisers are always there to answer your questions. You don't have to stay for all four years either - you have the option of transferring to the MAIN CAMPUS after two completed years, which is a great thing.
