What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

The advice that I would give parents and/or students about finding the right college for them is that college is what you make. No school will have everything that you like. It is up to you to make the best out of it. Do not base your opinion of the school on looks, food, parties or the neighborhood, because realistically it is about the classroom experience. Pick a school based on the department you plan on majoring in. If you feel as though you can benefit from that department, and that they will provide you with the skills and experience that you need, then that?s the school that you should choose. Also the college experience is what you make it. You are not at school to party or just to have fun, you are at school to learn and obtain a degree. The best college experience is living on campus and partaking in the activities that the school has to offer. But, at the same time taking that college experience and applying it to everyday life.
