What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Steven

Break down everything when searching for a college. Close your eyes. What do you see? is it a building? if so whats around it? Is there a palm tree, oak tree? Is it warm is it cold? Is there housing? Is there a gym? how big are the classes? campus life? academics? get into specifics later. but start big then get small. you wont find it, it will find you... and you'll know it when it happens.

When choosing a college, make sure to visit each school to see it for yourself. Talk to some of the students, and ask them about the classes, the on-campus activities, and the student atmosphere. Meet some of the teachers, as well, and inquire about the classes. They should tell you how challenging they are, the average class size, and the selection of classes available. Many colleges allow prospective students to sit in on classes and spend the night in student dorms; this is a great opportunity to experience on-campus living. If financial aid is necessary to fund your education, talking to a financial advisor is a great idea. Finally, remember to trust your gut instinct when choosing a school. The school where you feel the most comfortable is most likely the best choice.
