How to get a job on campus or off campus.

I wish I knew that the class schedule you want is very hard to get.

That I was going to be so poor all the time and finacially stressed.

Before coming to this school I was well prepared for how San Diego State is. I can say I knew the layout of the campus, the lack of diversity on campus and the sport teams. Before coming to this school, I might have wanted to know more about the Greek Life and how many people want to be apart of a fraternity or sorority. Sometimes it becomes a bit overwhelming when I am leaving the library in the evening and girls are running around in short dress on Greek row.

The one thing I wish I knew about San Diego State before I came here is that I was going to be given more opportunities here than I know what to do with and while it is wonderful that there is this mass amount of opporunities available, it can also be extremely overwhelming. One of the most important things to do when you get to San Diego State is set up a support system for yourself. They have people who are waiting to help students wade through all their choices, we just have to remember to seek it out.

I wish I had known that many of the students only care about partying. There are those who don't, but for many, that is all there is. Expecially during freshman and sophomore year. It is just good to meet people that are also trying to get through school, and have similar hopes and interests as you. Partying all the time is not necessarily a huge interest of mine.

The academic counselors are not trained or educated in any way.

Party schools are party schools (aka NOT for everyone). Greek life is huge, if you want a social experience...be aware of the culture you are getting into and be smart.

I wish I had known that reading the course material and completing homework was absolutely necessary to passing classes with decent grades.

How many Fraternities and Sororities there are, they are quite the party people, and they are not always very productive or studious. The Frat bros can be pretty forward at the parties so for any girls interested just be careful

i wish i would have known about the drug usage in the school. although it has not inflicted on my education and i have chosen to not participate in that act.

I wish that I knew that the college of engineering wasn't as large as I had assumed and that the school of business was actually highly ranked in the U.S.
