What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Now that I am in my second semester of college I feel as though I have a good amount of wisdom about the college life under my belt. If I could go back in time and give myself advice about the college life, I would first tell myself not to worry. College is all what you make of it and stressing out doesn't help. Teachers and counselors are available to lend a helping hand if need be. I would also let myself know that college exams are not that hard as long as studying gets done. Studying may be time consuming and a lot of work, but the rewards of getting good grades are worth it all in the end. Going to college is just another adventure in life and conquering all the obstacles is worth all the hard work put forth. If I were a high school senior today I would conclude with telling myself this, Life is a crazy, fun, and exciting adventure. Every hardship leads to great rewards and its all worth the hard work put forth in the end.

It is extremely important that I gain good study habits and focus on a career goal in college. I need to talk with my school counselor and start planning what area of study I need to take in college to be successful in life. What scholarships can I apply for now that will help wit h my tuition and expenses? The class schedule load can be very overwhelming and if some classes can be taken during the summer term then I would advise it to lessen the load. It makes for a short summer but it will help with the insanity that sometimes come from carrying 18-21 credit hours per semester. Be prepared the first sememster to go through a whole senario of ups and downs, frustrations to find your classes, where you are going to live and finding the time to do your own laundry and completing all your class assignments - well it is reality. You can do it, because the end result of completing your goal and starting a new profession is exciting and when you get that first paycheck - a mental note of I can do it and I did do it.
