St Olaf College Top Questions

What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

Music and medicine (or biology and chemistry) definitely have their place in the interest of the St.Olaf student body, but I see St. Olaf as a very well-rounded school. People here are interested and open to many academic disciplines, and the administration reenforces this diversity with some pretty hefty distribution requirements. I myself would have never considered taking a religion course (I am thoroughly agnostic, and religion didn't interest me) but at St. Olaf, all first year students are required to take a religion course. I ended up really loving the class even though it was my toughest class. The King and Queen of Norway actually visited the college this weekend, so there is no doubt about that stereotype being true. St. Olaf honors its heritage, but I wouldn't be quick to say that St. Olaf lacks diversity.
