There is a large feeling of school spirit here, especially if you mention Cardinal Hockey. Students are generally very friendly as are the staff members and help is always availible to those to seek it.

For a college campus, it is very well laid out, and it is pretty.

I currently attend the Suny Plattsburgh Branch Campus located in Queensbury, NY. This campus is most beneficial for returning students or adults who have jobs and families and can't travel far. Although, this is Plattsburgh, it is nothing like its main campus located in Plattsburgh, NY. So if your considering this school, make sure you realize that there is not a lot of extracurricular activities and there is no sports. The best thing about this school is it is convenient for people who are not able to go away to college.

The best thing about my school is that is is just the right size. A person can walk across campus in fifteen minutes. Another benefit of having such a small school is the student to teacher ratio. Knowing your major when entering college helped me because I have had many teachers twice already. I have gotten to know them on a personal basis just by being in their classes and participating. It is eay to make friends with the teachers when classes can have eight to twenty five students per class.

The people. No matter what you enjoy doing there will always be other people who are into the same kinds of things. Everyone at Plattsburgh is so friendly. There are almost no cliques. Everyone just angs out with everyone else.

The hands on and group activities in the class room are great things that help learning. I also enjoy the small size of the classrooms, this makes it more one on one with the professorers.

One great thing about my school is the faculty. Professors are very supportive and let you know where you stand at all times, if there is anything they can do to help you, they will do it. The location is also very good, it is located near downtown Plattsburgh where there are many restaurants, good shopping, and provided employment for many students.

The size; The school isnt too big therefore the group sizes for classes arent too big and they allow for more 1 on 1 assistance to be provided on an as needed basis.

The best thing about SUNY Plattsburgh is that its an open campus. Its one of the few schools that is actually in the town, instead being in our own little quarters. We interact with community, and learn about them and where they came from. Plattsburgh is also very historical, with the Battle of 1812 being fought just a mile down the road from the school. Montreal, Burlington and Lake Placid are all a hour away drive as well.
