They are mostly involved in Greek (sorority, fraternities) life, so unless you are in this scene, it's a little hard to make friends and become engaged with people.

Fun and outgoing, but lots of them like to party a lot on the weekends.

Some are fully dedicated to class, some are completely not and many fall on the in-between.

They are highly engaged into the class. Depending in which academic program you are in you will meet very cut-throat and competitive people and or very friendly and shy people. The students all have one thing in mind and that is succeeding int he class and are usualyl paired up in groups in order to achieve interactivity and becoming acustomed to working with other people.

My classmates are very competitive because we are all in the Whitman School of Management and competition is the soul of this school.

When asked to describe my classmates I would describe them as very intellectual and kind-hearted, because when ever I'm ready to give up someone always tells me why college is for me and that helps me succeed.

The thing about going to college is that you will experience an abundance of "new" and "different". Here at Syracuse University, i have met so many different people from all around the world. Some international students, some from the army, some from my own home town. Although so different they are all very friendly.

It depends on the class. Some of my classmates are social and helpful, especially in the bigger classes. In the smaller classes, situations tend to be a little bit more awkward.

My classmates are far different from my highschool classmates, there is a sense of intellect that I have not witnessed in my highschool classmates. Although they may be immature at times; one must remember we are only 18 and we have that impulse to not want to grow up and take responsibility.

Most are very nice, some very shy, like myself. Many are very polite but many are not. It is a lot different than high school, no one knows everybody so it takes sme getting use to that is for sure, so everybody is still getting use to it and getting to know each other. So as of right now, the majority are nice, polite people but you always have those that are not.

Crazy fun random peoples whom you can have random conversations with and whom you may or maynot be really good friends with later on. and ofcourse there are the people you see everyday in class but dont talk to because you dont get the random opportunity to actually say something that would be worth saying to them to initiate conversation, but who knows that random opportunity could be tomorrow.

My classmates all spend a lot of time on their work because we are engineers.

My major is really small. My classmates are a tight knit group of mostly women. We work together on many projects and spend ample amounts of time worrying and studying hard for the next exam. The student body at Syracuse can be best described as a prideful, strong, diverse community who respects each other and creates an environment for themselves which promotes learning and growth for everyone.

Experienced, Fun. Love hanging out with them. I learn a new thing everyday with them. Its a whole new experience hanging out with people from different nationalities. They are really accomadating and I enjoy their company. They have a lot of work experience which I use to take lessons from and implement it in my work.

To be able to interact with other students is one of the most rewarding aspects of going to college. College students as a group differ greatly from my high school experience. My college classmates were a diverse group of people from around the world.

At Syracuse my classmates are very cliquey, rich, and homogeous; many have known each other since high school and are generally Jewish from New Jersey or Long Island and most are in fraternities or sororities; most of my classmates are very smart at the Whitman School of Management, however some are just at the school because their families have the money; if you are not in one of their cliques you generally will be looked down upon by a group; most of my classmates have good business connections in the city as well.

People aren't too religious. People don;t dress up for class, but they don't look like they rolled out of bed either. In a dining hall, you could find one table of japs in sweatpants, the football team, artsy boys, and plain jane girls. Students tend to stay within their own groups except in the dorms when different groups interact more because they're living with these people. There's not your everyday guy and girl on every corner either.

In my classes so far, my classmates have all been from diverse backgrounds and with different goals for the future, though due to the major-specific classes I've taken, many of us have had similar career goals.

I would say that we're pretty diverse. There's a majority - uggs, sweat pants, we're so cool that never got over themselves from high school. But I feel comfortable wearing anything to class, I haven't had any problems finding people who aren't like that, and if you're into that, not a problem. There are a lot of people from Long Island - fact. But there are also people from California so you're never locked into one type.

Since we're all in all of the same classes together, we've grown really close and I love them all.

Classmates vary...there are many international students who come very well focused and determined to succeed and have an American education? In addition you have students from economically disadvantaged families who have been given lots of financial aid because the university sees promise in them and has faith that they will succeed, as well as students from wealthy families...overall students care much about their education here.
