I love UT cause of the class sizes. The professors usually always know my name, usually cause I talk a lot in class. The teachers are really intelligent individuals with real world experience but at the same token, some stink at teaching. I have had many classes I've enjoyed (ranging from Chem to Marketing) and many I've struggled through (Accounting, Stats). The cirriculum at UT is really well rounded, a bit of everything which will ultimately help the student in the long run, but sometimes its frustrating that I have to take so many prereqs. All the presentations are usually via powerpoint and teachers use a website called Blackboard religiously. The classes are challenging in my opinion and I learn new things everyday.
Classes in UT are relatively small, which makes them perfect because professors get to know your name. UT is focused in getting a student a job once they graduate, so education is focused towards making the student a proactive and effective professional. I don't feel the need to study that much, if you do what you are told within the assigned time then you'll be alright. Professors encourage participation in most of their classes, but most of my professors do it in a humorous way, which makes it very light and entertaining.
Small classroom sizes allow for a very personal learning experience. Professors know your name and sometimes you are even encouraged to call the professor at their home number if you need help on their off hours. I have enjoyed about 90% of my classes. I am a business major and think our business college is amazing!
Academic life depends on your major and the individual student's academic drive. Some students put in more time in their work and making a difference.
